Ooooh it was lovely. All 7 courses! Some of it wasn't as pretty or as hot as I'd have liked it to be, but everyone enjoyed it and as stressful as it was I loved doing it. 7 courses plus champagne and wine for £20 a head :-)

I'm in anchorage with mom right now. Last night we ate at Yak & Yeti which was awesome, indian and tibetan food, then saw 'Water for Elephants' which we agree was ALMOST as awesome as the book, then this morning I made challah french toast with organic sausages and organic blackberries on the side (trying to train my mom to eat organic - a lost battle lol) which she loved. Now giving her a haircut before I drive 4 hours back home! my mom is the BEST friend I've got, I love her to little bits and pieces! yay moms of the world! <3

Yeah, she just called and said in her ...sigh... Oh, Karen voice, "That sounds EXACTLY like something you'd say." I may be an awful daughter but at least I'm consistent!

Karen, I'm sure you're a WONDERFUL daughter.... not all moms are created perfect, for sure... enough said right? I always think on Mother's Day we should create Auntie's Day for all the other mothers out there... some of the most maternal people are aunts, cousins, sisters, friends... you don't have to give birth to someone to mother them that's for sure...

I completely agree with your pretty and Karen I feel the same way about Father's Day. My step- dad and I aren't close and I don't know my real father so that day can hit me hard sometimes. I'm sure are a wonderful daughter.
I just got off the phone with my Mom. I'm sending her a card out tomorrow. My Mom's pretty amazing and I love her dearly. We are very different in many ways, but she's really shown up for me in the last couple of years especially since my diagnosis.
