I'm going all out this year! I have the perfect costume. Its hopefully coming this week. Part I made, part I bought and is being shipped to me. I'm so bad! I ordered a white dress scrub, and I even found a little pair of canvas flats. I also made the cape. (its not quite finished, I'm doing it in between study breaks!) I promise when its all together I will post a picture. I'm having a lot of fun. The inspiration was a book from 1957 that was written about nursing students in WWII. I just felt compelled!

The rest of my costume came! I had to try it on, just cause. Its very authentic too. Lately I have been feeling pretty rotten about myself. I love this outfit and it feels good to accomplish something.

Yeah, I have a pharmacology exam worth a 1/3 of my grade Monday morning and another test in theory Wednesday and I worked in the 8 pm to 430 am shift in the ER last night. BUT I needed a little something to pick me up. Having a lot of issues since the surgery with my body image and feeling pretty low.

This is all so funny to me, because I was raised so strict/religious that we weren't allowed to celebrate Halloween. Based on my parents' theory, Halloween is the celebration of the devil's power and if you celebrate it, you are intentionally 1) celebrating a falsehood (because God's sacrifice through Jesus is complete and his redemption of the world is complete, so the devil has no power, even for a day) and 2) celebrating the devil. Bleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Bah humbug!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My block is a riot on Halloween. The hubby and I have stockpiled about a haybale-size mountain of candy. and believe me, it will ALL get trick-or-treated.
Karla, I'm sorry you've been feeling low since the surgery. Is it somethign specific? or let down after the surgery and stress from starting school? Hope you feel brighter soon.

While I worked last night one of my nurses and I got talking about the caps the nurses used to wear. She helped me draw a plan for what hers was like and how it went together. We were bored last night, can't you tell? lol, anyways we made a tiny version of her cap and I finished sewing the cap right before our party. It is the crown for my outfit!

LOL wow Gem! That's freakin hilarious! I wanted to paint my face like Natalie Portman in the Black Swan but I just don't have time I thought that would have been such a fun costume.
