It's been +7 months since my laparoscopy. I guess it didn't help because I still have pain in my bladder every day, and the pain is even worse than before the surgery. I also started to have this stabbing pain in my left ovary (they found something there and burnt it) and sometimes it hurts so much that I just cry and try to be as still as possible. My cycle is messed up because I quit birth control pills, but based on those few periods I've had since the lap, my menstrual pain hasn't changed; still hurts to poop and sit, having cramps, headache, fatigue, lower back pain etc... I'm currently waiting to get mirena put, I'm so scared because I've heard it hurts like sh*t.
I have an appointment with my doctor this month and I'll ask her opinion on whether I should se a gyno or not.
By the way, still hurts to wear jeans.

Hi!~
I’m sorry you are going thru all of this pain still. Have you had children ever? Mirena from what I have read from other members has been called a torture device. Many members have tried it and it didn’t work for them. I believe that it’s suggested if you have had a child, if you haven’t sometimes it’s not so great. Can I ask you why you went off the pill? I take the pill continually and it’s a night/day difference as far as pain for me. I never ever have a bleed, there isn’t a physical reason to since the pill keeps your endometrium thin, there is nothing to shed so I love never ever bleeding. Have you tried the endo diet? Many of us have gotten amazing results as far as treating our pain just from diet changes. I can tell you it’s tough to follow but if I slip up, I notice a difference immediately with some pain so that’s my trigger telling me I’m on the right track with the diet.
I’m a huge proponent of the pill but everyone is different and feels differently about treatment options. For me, it’s given me my life back, on the pill, my endo is completely quiet and I have a full normal life without any pain issues what so ever. Your bladder pain could possibly be IC – also known as endo’s evil twin. Again, hormone treatment like the pill has been known to help with this but again, it’s just trial and error. There are afew diagnostic tests for IC so I’d encourage you to get in touch with an endo specialist or a endo/uro/gyno specialist who can help you manage the bladder issues.
Good luck! Please keep us posted!

Yes, you should see a gyno! A regular doctor shouldn't be treating endo, in my opinion. I know there are a few rare gems that are the exception, but most don't know it well enough to treat it successfully.
I had Mirena inserted during my lap so I can't comment on insertion pain, but I'm one that it didn't agree with. I had pain every day both before and after Mirena, only it just made it worse when it was in. It's certainly something to try, as is BC, but if it doesn't work, you have a right to request other options.

Hey Karollina, great to hear from you but I'm sorry you aren't feeling better. I would keep pushing for better, and maybe finding a new gyn could help. Can you see a urogynocologist to check out the bladder? I'm still concerned about your bowels too but it sounds like the bladder is more troublesome.
I've never had the Mirena, but maybe it will help.

Karollina, I agree with the other girls in that you should see a uro/gyn. My first 2 laps my gyn just burned or drained the endo they found and it came back within 4 to 9 months. You may also have IC, which might be causing your bladder pain.
I just had surgery last week. The pain is not that bad. The Botox and presacral neurectomy combo is great! It just feels like my insides were scraped up a bit. The nausea has been bad, but I can get through it. I have been using a heat pack and it has helped get rid of a lot of the gas. I was diagnosed with IC, so I keep going to the bathroom. I had an allergic reaction to the iodine though, so I keep wanting to scratch my abdomen and surgery sites. I feel like a kid with chicken pox.

Oh wow, so many replies! thanks girls I've never had children. I quit bc by accident actually.. Then I thought I could try something different like mirena. Here in finland (to those who don't know, I'm finnish) I guess doctors recommend mirena for all women who have endo. I've heard good stories but also a few bad ones; people trying mirena and everything just went worse. But like someone said, it's important to try different things. I've never even heard of IC. Wonder what it is in finnish lol.. Good to know there could be another reason for the pain in my bladder. Gotta do some research.. I haven't tried the endo diet yet. But one thing I've noticed is that caffeine makes my bladder pain even worse. It's ok to have 1-2 cups of coffee. Sometimes I drink more and then I suffer the consequenses. It's the same thing with alcohol sometimes, no need to worry about that because I don't drink. So I could try the diet but it would be very hard for me to give up coffee. Here in finland decaf is sooooo expensive, 8 euros per pack and very hard to find it. Here you can't just go and see a gyno, first you need to visit your own doctor and she/he will send you to a gyno if necessary. I don't know how the system goes in other countries. So I'll ask my doctor if she could arrange an appointment with a gyno. Also here people don't have always the same gyno, except if you go to a private hospital - but that's where the wealthy ppl go. Ummmm.. Don't have time to write anymore but I havent given up, I will try different ways to cope with my endo and maybe one day I'm pain-free

Been out of surgery about 24 hours now, and oh am I sore. I have to say though that it is a completely different pain than I had before. The bloating, electric acid, and cramping pain is ALL gone! Though I feel sore and itchy inside and outside my abdomen.
However, the infamous right shoulder pain is minimal.
Doing my best to take it easy and still move around. It's been helping to alternate sitting up, and laying on my side.

I am now 3 days post surgery, and I am so happy! My abdomen is still swollen though it's clearly from the surgery. No pelvic pain at all! My pelvic muscles are sore, and of course my abdomen is tender and the incisions hurt, but this is already SO MUCH BETTER!
I can pass gas now, without excruciating pain and without it being stuck in my belly forever! For the past day I have been on less pain medication than prior to surgery.
My right leg is virtually all better! I was able to sit crosslegged today! I haven't been able to do that for over a year without pain!
No abdominal cramps, no stabbing pains, no feeling like someone filled my pelvis with battery acid, no leg aches, no feeling like I'm gonna die 15 minutes after I eat.
I'm still having insomnia. Also, I am constipated from anesthesia, pain meds, and also I haven't eaten much, but it's not causing agony like prior to surgery. It does hurt to move my abdomen at all. However, 4 incisions and all the slicing and dicing they did in there I guess that is to be expected.
My incisions look great, they're actually dermabonded so no stitches or bandages.
I already feel like I have MORE energy, and so much less pain.
For the first time in years I am optimistic that I may be able to get my body back for good.
I am so thankful for my primary care pushing me to get the surgery and connecting me with my amazing gynecologist.
I had no nausea post surgery, no complications, and next to no gas pain. Also nearly no bleeding even though I was barely 1 day into my period prior to being rolled into surgery.
He told me prior to surgery that he believes he can get it all, and he believes in pushing this bugger into remission. I believe him now.

Great! I'll caution you to take it easy for at least a few weeks, though! Your body will need a lot of energy to heal. But all around, good report!
