anasthesia and pain meds can do all sorts of things to your body. I have the shakes for days after anasthesia. If it continues for longer than a couple hours, maybe call your doctor? hope you feel better soon.

Jtean- I read your description of your lap, it sounds like something made you crazy nauseous in the hospital, is it possible you're still getting that out of your system? Also, if you haven't been back to eating everything like caffeine your body might just be off. Give the doc a call (sounds like a good doc this time btw) to check in though. I hope you feel better soon!!

Well, my boyfriend just told me that the night he came home from the hospital, he got sick, and felt bad for a few days after (he didn't say anything to me because i just had surgery and of course was feeling crappy, and he's a weirdo like that)
But anyway, maybe i've caught a stomach bug from him, and it's lasting a while cause my body just went through a bunch of crap? The anesthesia definitely made me sick, but i started feeling much better, and then a day later i was like i am now...feeling like i have the flu, but no fever...
oh well, i will call the doctor tomorrow either way

I am sorry and hope I am not making anyone crazy with my questions. You ladies are the only people I have to ask these things to. So my lap was 3-1 and the dr had told me before if he found anything he would burn it out. I know he did find endo so I assume he burned it out. Now I am having this terrible pain in the area of my left ovary. Would this be normal if he burned endo from that area. It actually hurts more now than before surgery. GGGrrrrrr

There is a lot of pain associated with the surgery too--all that internal cutting/burning is painful in its own right, and it takes some time to heal. How are you feeling now?

Give yourself sometime it is alot on your body when they do a lap even tho most people are out the day of it is still cutting. Did the doc say anything about your ovaries you may be eaxactly right he could of burned some off or removed a cyst? I would ask where he removed the endo maybe it was the left ovary. Good Luck if the pain continues call the doctor.

Hi All I am new to this message board and being going through some of the various threads today which contain incredibly useful information!! I had a lap and hysteroscopy 3 weeks ago and still recovering from both. I was diagnosed with endo which was treated as well as had a mirena coil fitted it. However my recovery has been hampered due to a post-surgical infection, virus (blooming hospital virus ) and now managed to get bronchitis. The bleeding was constant after the surgeries although now it has stopped as the doc has increased my dose of mirena. However the endo pain is still fairly bad and I suffer from a lot of fatigue. Do you guys have any advice on how to combat the fatigue linked to endo? Also did you guys suffer from low moods after your surgeries? My moods are quite low and the doctor says it is due to the Provera and my post-surgical complications. Would love hearing about how you guys managed to get back to your usual moods after the surgery.

Tammy - sounds like we're at similar points - my surgery was 2 weeks ago yesterday, and I've been oddly depressed, too. I suspect it may be mostly due to my post-surgery insomnia. I've been concentrating on little things that make me happy, like drawing, or photographing my doll collection. It's stuff that doesn't take too much energy, but is rewarding. I've also found that iphone games are a good distraction and mood lifter for me.

Surgery messes with you in lots of ways, you need to accept that your body has been through a trauma and needs time to heal and put itself right. Batgirl your ideas are awesome. Distract yourself from the boredom, try and enjoy the downtime. If you are in a lot of pain that pain relief doesn't touch - then go to a doc/walk in/ER/A&E.

also, anasthesia stays in your body for a long time, and it can make you feel depressed, fatigued, etc--in addition to the physical trauma of surgery.

After surgey to get into my house I have to walk up a flight of 16 stairs. This is actually scaring me more than the surgery. I remember after my miomectomy walking up to stairs was a killer. Does anyone one know if I can arrange some kind of service with my Dr.

No idea. I'd just take it very slow, can your hubby carry you up the stairs and get you into bed? Make sure you hold the hand rail every single time you go up or down for at least the first month or two. Don't take any chances!

we have lots of threads on recovery and what to expect before and after surgery. Mostly, just let yourself get LOTS of rest. Can someone help with the 20 month old?
