Hey misslauren Regarding the bladder thing push your specialist as it doesn't sound quite right to me With my lap I found my pains worsened over time which is why I was given zoladex (I think forced) but my periods after lap did progress extensively which I could never understand n have tried ,any 'treatments' to no avail....personally I think u need to scream n shout at or specialist maybe then they'd understand or try help
Sorry can't be much help hugs to you xxx

Misslauren, check out the IC threads as this sounds similar. Its called interstitial cystitis and mine definitely flared after my lap. I would get to a gyno/urologist and tell her whats going on. There are two threads about this topic "Need a Wee" and "Interstitial Cystitis".

Thanks ladies, it's much appreciated.
I've just gotten off the phone to my specialist...I have to go back in for another lap, possibly today or tomorrow. I just wanted this to be over, I'd recovered really well (well, aside from the other issues), the scars had healed nicely and everything (which, I have no idea...do they go back in via the same scars or make new ones?). She said that, though it seems very unlikely that there is a hole in the bladder, that she may need to turn it to a laparotomy if need be...and this scared me terribly. The whole thing does, and I feel mighty alone. Not good at all.
Will keep you all updated on my 'recovery'!

Thanks all. I am back at home in bed after my second lap in not even three months. Five minutes before I was wheeled into surgery, my surgeon (also my specialist) came out and told me she'd JUST gotten the results of my urine test I'd done two days earlier, and it turned out I did have a severe bladder infection and UTI. Now, this just baffles me, because I've spent the last 6 weeks-ish dealing with this issue on and off, done four urine tests across the time with mixed results (first, nothing, second, an infection they couldn't identify so they put me on a double course of antibiotics which didn't really help, third, nothing and now this one...so strange). Anyway, so she immediately said I'll pump you full if antibiotics whilst you're under and send you away with a script, but that she felt it was still wise to go ahead with the surgery to ensure nothing sinister is going on. So, in I go (so scared it was going to turn laparotomy) and they knocked me out. Once I awoke, my doc had once again left me a note--oh and before I even looked at that I was feeling my stomach; only a belly button and pubic bone incision, thank god--and her note said everything went well, no issues with my bladder (in fact, it's almost fully healed, as is the rest of the work she last did) however there were two new spots of endo on my left side pelvic wall...they'd ALREADY grown back...after less than three months. She removed them and that was it. So, it'll be a couple of weeks before I see her to discuss it all properly, but as you can appreciate I am pretty devastated that it's already growing back. This doesn't surprise me...as the period I last had (my third after original surgery) was one of the worst I've ever experienced, and a lot of my recent pain has been on my left. So, I suppose I'll focus on recovering for now (I am way sorer this time, who knows why--oh and the gas pain is way worse too!!) and then discuss options with my doc. I'm fairly stuck, as I refuse to go on Lupron or anything similar, and me and any form of hormonal contraception (particularly the pill) do not mix...all I do is gain weight, get high blood pressure and (worst of all) become severely depressed. I just don't want hormones in my body...especially when, by this time next year, my partner and I are going to have started trying for our first bub. I'm certain, as everyone says, research is the key...so that's my next step. This disease is so debilitating (and even more so when those around you think it's a joke and couldn't possibly be that bad--for example, my parents immediate reaction to the newly grown endo was 'oh, the surgeon MUST have missed it'). If anyone could point me around to places they think would be helpful, that would be awesome...and I'd love to hear from those ladies who have experienced regrowth of the endo so quickly after surgery. Thanks again

Hi all, it has been a while since I have been on here. Unfortunately my endo seems to be have progressed. I went in for a laparoscopy which turned into a laparotomy. According to the doctor there is a blockage in my bowels and the endo is severe, and I went for a scan (I think a cat scan?) which was a horrible experience, we will get the results of the scan next week Friday. From there he is going to determine what further surgery is required but possibly a bowel resect. I am just want to know from other people possibly with more experience but when do the surgeries stop? How can I avoid these surgeries? Looking forward to hearing from you

Hi, if you have a search I believe we have a thread on multiple surgeries, that would be a better place to post your questions

Hi ladies. I'm in bed at the hotel, recouping after my first lap/hysteroscopy/cystoscopy and chromotubation with Dr Sinervo at the CEC. It's day 4 after the surgery (it was last Thurs) and although I am super sore, still haven't rid myself of all the gas, and insanely tired, I am so happy and relieved to have answers after all this time So far, I couldn't feel better about the decision to come out here. Dr S met with my fiance after the procedure and went through it all with photos. My fiance taped the conversation for me and I was able to listen to it and look at the photos once I was in recovery. Dr S also provided me with a DVD of the procedure too. I will be meeting with him tomorrow at my post-op, where I can ask more detailed questions. They did find endo, I think he said stage II. They found it behind my uterus and left ovary, and connecting my tube to the pelvic wall. They excised it all. They also removed my appendix because it was misshaped (I approved this pre-surgery). They confirmed that my uterus was arcuate-shaped, but that this shouldn't cause fertility issues, and there is also a good chance I have adenomyosis The dye showed that my tubes were nice and open! Lastly, the cystoscopy showed I had a mild case of IC, which I will be asking him more about tomorrow. As sore and overwhelmed I am at the results and what this all means moving forward, I am very happy to have answers. Some of you might recall my fears of going crazy prior to this, so you can imagine how good the clarity feels I still have so many questions to ask him about what was found, and I am still curious what these findings may mean for my chances to conceive, but I am happy to be heading down this road. Will keep you posted on how the post-op goes & my continued recovery. Oh and I am dreading the journey home to CO tomorrow... Have to take a train, plane, and car... WAAAAH! Atleast I will be getting a wheelchair at the airport, my man will take good care of me, and this pillow is a lifesaver! (Seriously, anyone reading this who is going to have a lap--bring a pillow with you)

Nibletz--very happy to hear lap #2 went well and you are on the mend! Good news that you have the all clear for fertility and only one spot of endo, although bummer it doesn't explain the pains. Did they do a hysteroscopy at all? Any chance it could be adenomyosis causing the pain instead?
