Hi ladies....doing good!! Had my first ultrasound on Monday and got to see the heartbeat. It was quite possibly the most amazing thing I've ever seen in my life. I'm feeling pretty good. I have some pretty bad morning sickness most mornings, but luckily there's no puking with it. Just extrememe nauseaness. I'm not as tired during the day anymore, but I'm done for by about 7:30 at night. I'm eating like a pig, but cest la vie. I just feel like I can't get enough food!!! My OB rocks - she's a trip. Has a great attitude and a is super witty! It's so refreshing for a change. I have one more ultrasound in a week and half, and then I go on the "normal" OB schedule. They're slighty worried about my thallesemia, so they'll be monitoring my blood more closely than a normal case. Otherwise, things are good I think it's finally sunk in. Still can't believe it though...

Congratulations Talia. Very exciting news. I too have some news to share. Almost straight after I began my treatment for the prolactinoma that I told you about earlier this year, I became pregnant and I am now 13 weeks! Been feeling pretty yuck and heaving most days but hoping that the end is in sight. Had the scan last week and all is well with the baby so far.

Hi Jenaya, thanks as well.
Yes, I had to stop the drug as soon as I found out and I will just be monitored more closely for the pregnancy - visual fields will be tested at 20 weeks and at 36 weeks. I think there will be an MRI scan fairly soon after the birth to see how big the prolactinoma is and then take action from there. If it has gotten big, I will not be able to breastfeed, but that isn't the end of the world in the big scheme of things.

Thanks guys and congrats to you too Talia. Seems like we are at similar points. I am due on 7th Feb 2012 so it is very exciting and all slightly surreal. I think until I get a bump, I won't really believe it is real. Just feel a bit of a podge at the moment. Now, the nausea (which has been constant - so much for just in the morning!!) is beginning to improve though when I am hungry I can feel it. The tiredness is still very strong and so I rest after work in the evenings for about an hour and a half. Only been sick a few times, so I guess I am lucky on that score. How are you finding it?

I must say, I really lucked out in the first-trimester-is-awful department. I had some bad nausea (all day) from weeks 5-8 and extreme fatigue, but other than that it's been pretty easy. I'm running into some health issues now due to my blood issues, but hopefully we'll sort it out. I've had some cramps (different from the usual ligament stretching) that I'm trying not to worry about, but it's hard. I go for my monthly OB appointment today, so I'm curious to find out if everything is ok. I hope your "morning" (ha ha) sickness passes quickly! I'm a pig now...eating as much as my husband!!!

I am very happy for both of you girls. Pregnancy is an uncertain time for even the most care-free and robust of us women so I hope it passes happily and without any other worrying factors for you both. It's always really lovely to see people posting in this board. Congratulations
