My husband was warming a bottle of my milk and was aslked if it weas boob milk, he said yeah. He asked my husband if I has extra stored and if so he would like to buy it. he said he likes it in his cereal, Gross.
What do youm mean by block feeding? I was actually massaging after feeding. I thought it was to make sure not to clog any duct and to avoid an infection. I dont time my feedings any more, she seems to empty my breast in 6-10 min. or so. I switch breasts when she is sucking but not swallowing any more. I was told that is when my milk is gone. I am so confused about all this mixed info. AGH I want to pull my hair out.

Your husband warms your milk? How does he warm it?
The massaging after feeding sounds relaxing. Massaging while you're feeding makes the fat content higher. But honestly, if your baby is having yellow stools, she's getting all the fat she needs per serving. Mine has watery green if I don't block feed--feeding several feeds per same breast to get more hindmilk. When she goes through growth spurts, she feeds for longer periods of time, and then I don't need to block feed.
Ah. When she is sucking but not swallowing, try breast compressions with the same breast. When you can compress for one minute and don't get any swallows, then you're breast is truly "empty." (The breast never becomes 100% empty.).
I'm trying to find that link to that wonderful LC!

I use to have a lot of extra milk so I currently have a freezer full. So when ever I dont have any fresh he warms it in our bottle warmer or puts it in a cut of warm water. Are we doing it wrong?
When Emmi goes through growth spurts I swear it feels like I should just attach her to my boob. She will eat all day long maybe no more then 30-45 min in between. Thankfully it does not last more then a day. I will try doing breast compressions to see if that helps.
Yah it was very disturbing Cass I am surprised my husband didnt jump him or something.

Tiff! I think I was wrong about the fat! Even though I have read it a million different places how I described it, according to kellymom.com, diet doesn't have to do a lot with how much fat is produced, but it can affect which fats are present in breast milk. Apparently, it is how empty the breast is that determines fat production--the emptier the breast, the higher the fat content! However, kellymom also states that the compressions do up the content of fat. www.kellymom.com/bf/supply/foremilk-hindmilk.htmlHow you are warming the bottle is fine. About the fat, though, if Emmi (love her name, btw!) is having yellow stools, she is probably fine!

I have to feed only one breast per session, actually feeding on the same breast for 2 or 3 times (usually 3) before switching to the other breast. If I don't, she doesn't get enough hindmilk and has watery, green, poops. She only eats for like 5-10 min. and that only gives her water with my milk composition. Next time, I will know better than to listen to the dumb a*s nurses in the hospital, and I won't pump. That way, hopefully, I won't have overactive letdown and oversupply! Grrrr! Thanks for the article, cherry!

Ok I know this has nothing to do with Endo but I need advice from all you mommies who have breast fed. I noticed a lot of soreness in my right breast and within a day it turned to a pain and burning sensation on the bottom right side of the right breast. With in a few hours I developed a red blotchy triangular patern in the area of my breast that hurts. I have looked up info on mastitis and it looks similar but I am not running a fever or have chills. I am guessing it is a clogged duct...any advice on what I should do?

Wow, Tiff! Call your doctor A.S.A.P. if it is mastitis, you want to catch it the earliest possible. Maybe fever comes later? Even a clogged duct can hurt pretty badly! I know in both cases you feed on the infected or clogged side frequently. Babies are supposedly super good clog-suckers. LOL!

LOL ouchy thanks. Yeah I have been feeding on that side first on every feeding and trying to massage it as much as possible to unblock any clogs that might be there, but it is real uncomfortable. I have just called and left a message for my dr. Hopefully I will hear back soon.
It is just so weird for me to just now be having issues with clogs or infection. Usually if you have problems it tends to be within the first few weeks of breast feeding...not 6 months later.

OK up-date: It was a clogged duct that was turning into an infection (mastitis) I was instructed to use a warm compress or heating pad on low setting on the breast with the infection/ clogged duct and massage it as much as I can handle every time before feeding my daughter. When I do nurse her I am to start on the infected breast and position her to where her chin is facing the infection. I guess the direction of her chin determines where the milk is being pulled from most. It was just the begging of an infection and if I was able to get the duct un clogged within a few hours I would probably be able to kick it in the butt with out medication. As it turns out I already feel so much better. The redness is barely there and the discomfort/pain has gotten so much better. ;D

Alright...Yet again another breastfeeding issue My daughter who thankfully has no teeth yet has recently started biting down. OUCH...it hurts bad! it went from once or twice a day to every feeding just within a week. I have told her "baby that hurts mommy, you can't do that" "Ouch...NO" which I felt bad about because it was instinct to scream from the pain but I know I should't because I dont want her to be scared to nurse, I have also been told that when she bites down pull her closer to my breast that way she has to open her mouth for more air since she wont be able to breath from her nose.
Here is my questions... what are some things you have heard or used for your children to stop them/ teach them it is not ok to bite while nursing? I want to break her of this before she gets teeth.
