I totally didn't see this thread the first time I looked. I will just repost here.
Well my endo symptoms have just been getting so much worse the past 2 months. On top of the debilitating pelvic pain I have had everything from sciatic nerve pain to killer low back pain, migraines, headaches, vertigo, weird things showing up on my skin, the list goes on and on.
Well today after being up all night in pain from my pelvic area, I awoke from a deep sleep with what I though to be just real bad heartburn. However it didn't feel the same. The pain was right below and underneath my sternum and it radiated deep through my chest and into my upper back on the right side. At first I thought I was having a heart attack. Then after about 20 minutes of this it faded away only to return intermittently all day.
This really just seems to be happening all at once. My mom had her gallbladder removed when she was not much older than me. (i'm 24) I hear that stress can cause this sometimes. I have been stressed with everything else going on as well. Anyway, anyone else experience this? Could it be gallstones? I call my doc but they cant see me today. I will try to get in tomorrow.
Thanks!

gallbladder or a cyst? if it's awful, please go to the ER! just because endo is horrible it shouldn't be a cause to ignore new and scary pains... just reminding you Last year after my excision surgery, my surgeon kindly told me that a 'normal' person (one with a 'normal' pain tolerance that is) would have 'been in the ER ten years ago'. I like to tell this to people like you and Gem who seem to bear a lot without complaining... anyhow, don't grin and bear it too much, k girl?

That's true! This pain, though uncomfortable, is a breeze compared to the once a month 5 day stretch of blackout pain. I would gladly take this over the other 100x over. However I do know that I shouldn't just let it continue. I decided that if it got any worse I would go to the ER.
Hmmm... if I ended up having to get it removed rather urgently, maybe they would check out my lower abdominal area. Two birds one stone. Just a thought. But beats having to get 2 surgeries in 2 months. This is lame!

Hopefully you can get in with your doctor! They can maybe start out with an abdominal ultrasound and then go from there. Did your mom have gallstones or gallbladder disease?

Please get it checked you can have a ultrasound to check for the gallstones even sludge will show up I believe in a ultsound. A Hida scan is what will show if you have a non functioning gallbladder. Dont wait! I went months and saw some really dumb docs. Ended up on a artificial feeding line and New Years Day was in surgery with a infected appendix still it had not been figured out I got the Hida scan and was in surgery again to remove the gallbladder. I had every test and the Hida was what showed it. Here is a list of sypmtons Pain or tenderness under the rib cage on the right side Pain between shoulder blades Stools light or chalky colored Indigestion after eating, especially fatty or greasy foods Dizziness Bloating Gas Burping or belching Feeling of fullness or food not digesting Diarrhea (or alternating from soft to watery) Constipation Headache over eyes, especially right Bitter fluid comes up after eating Chills Fever (off and on) Attacks most often at night Pain can last 15 minutes to 15 hours Nausea Severe upper abdominal pain We have a few members without gallbladder and appendix not sure how if it is connected with endo or not but I have a theory our bodies just give up fighting and organs start to cause us problems. Sorry you feel so bad it is a awful pain I put it up there with kidney stones. Good Luck and keep us posted.

Mom had stones. Thankfully no ER trip last night, just woke up and no pain yet. I'm crossing my fingers because we are supposed to head to Austin Texas today for South by Southwest.

Stones are a lot easier to detect than gallbladder disease in imaging. I hope that your pain doesn't flare up while out on your trip! In the mean time it may be useful to avoid fatty foods and things that are really sugary.

Yikes! Ksa are these symptoms of gallstones, disease or just a low functioning gallbladder? So far it's just been the pain like I described before. I'm always nausious and dizzy from migraines so I wouldn't be able to compare those.

Girl, whatever the case, there is likely something very wrong with your gallbladder. If it's making you sick and the suicide heartburn (that's what I call it) is relentless, and the pain is radiating to your back, and you're nauseous... it needs to be checked out. When I finally went, they found a half-inch stone, and I think they were not only surprised that I hadn't been to the ER, but they were surprised I could handle the pain as well as I could, and they were very worried about infection. If you come down with a fever of 100, go straight to the emergency room. Avoid the following: Whole eggs, yellow cheese, alcohol of any kind, most dairy, caffeinated beverages (unless you've found they don't bother you - coffee didn't bother me, but that's rare, apparently), anything fried, and any and all packaged foods, if you can help it. I found the best thing was fresh fruits and veggies (as tolerated - some will kick your ass, you'll just have to find out what they are by trial and error), and lean protein. Hope that helps and doesn't dampen the joy of your trip. BTW, we live in the same town!

Not sure if I had posted it earlier, but I did not have stones at all, just gallbladder disease. Nothing was found on me until they did the Hida Scan.
