I just realized we have a pretty much duplicate thread related to this one. I'll copy/paste the other thread into this thread.

Lap w/ hysteroscopy & dye

If anyone has any comments on having a lap with a hysteroscopy & dye (particularly during menstruation?) that would be great, thanks.

I don't really know anything about any advantages or disadvantages of having surgery during your period, but I had my period when I had my second lap and laser - no dramas

This thread will be great, if it doesn't entirely revert back to answers for the other one on having a lap during your period. I think the answers may be swayed bc not many women have had the hysteroscopy and dye.
You should call your doc. to ask for sure.

I had the hysterscopy and dye, during menstruation.
Cant say too much about it, would not have even known it was done except i pee'd blue later. Couldnt tell the amount of bleeding coz i had my period, but the bleeding after was heavy, stop start and lasted like 16days or something ridiculous like that. Not sure if that was from the procedure, or if it was just that things were already so out of whack.

What about having both done while NOT on your period? I just read an article about them having to use gas in the uterus as well to make things easier to see which causes 'period like cramps'. Here is the link:
www.victoriafertility.com/PDFs/InfoSheet-Hysteroscopy.pdfI am supposed to have both the dye and the hysteroscopy done during my lap. I guess it depends on how each individual deals with pain in the first place.
