Some surgeons can cover it all, just depends on their background. My gyn took out my appendix and assured me that if she needed to, she could perform work on my bowels and bladder, too. Might be worth mentioning to your doc in your pre-op, or call them in advance so they can at least try to plan ahead. Best of luck with everything!

Thanks again! My Doc is going to look at and possibly remove my appendix. She is also going to be removing endo from my bladder as that was there at my dx lap in '05. She has her husband also a GYN Surgeon assisting and a general surgeon on call. Hopefully, I will be able to talk with her or her nurse tomorrow.

I got the surgical report and Path report... something I always do so I can know what occured and its better then trying to remember what the doctor said. The bladder tack is part of the vaginal cuff. They attach the vaginal cuff to the ligaments to keep everything in place and strengthen the bladder. Hopefully it worked!! The Path report was fun. Dr. said "and there was an endometrioma which we knew" I told my hubby on the way out "Idiot! I had three doctors look at that ultrasound and say it was just functional cysts. My ovary path report showed not 'a' cyst but MANY Cysts all with blood inside. So there was a reason I was in so much floggin' pain this last three months. The inside had completly grown over as well. The cul de sac which he cleaned out last time was completly full again and the sigmoind colon and bowels were compleetly glued to my uterus on the back side. It said it took a long time to get the bowels carefully pulled off of the uterus. It also explains why I have such problems with IBS like symptoms. My bowel was covered in endo! So its a watch and see as to whether these will continue to be a problem in the future. I have another apt. in four weeks and should get the clear for sex with the hubby. Our eleven year anniversary is right after the apt. so I hope I get the clear. I could use a sexy night with the hubby and just the two of us.! its been a long year!!!

Um, Karla, you had that whole mess going on and you still climbed that big 'ol rock this summer? Holy crap! I'm amazed that things got that bad again that quickly.

Yes I did climb that Big O'l rock... but it explains why I was so sick when i got down. I thought I was going to puke the pain was so bad on the way home. I actually had bucket and everything. I don't know what possessed me to do that but at least I still have that sense of accomplishment from this summer. I can't think of anything else I managed to do since this spring!? Right now each day is an accomplishment I guess!

Looks like I have to cancel my surgery. My Hubby lost his job today. I will probably be losing mine very soon too. And, I'm due to get my period this week. I think I woke up in H3LL today.

YUCK! There is a lot of that around... I'm sorry everything is topsy turvy. That's some rotten news. I'm not sure the hyster would help anyways. I'm still in a lot of pain and I think Lassy 74 said she is too...

Big Gal... you could still do the surgery and set up a payment plan with the hospital or just hope that Cobra covers it and make sure you get on COBRA even if its really, really expensive or you'll have a waiting period for your endo! THAT SUCKS trust me!!

Hey Karla, We will definitely keep some sort of health insurance. My sister has been helping me with what to look into.
Looks like I will be going ahead with the surgery. I have the best parents in the world! They are going to cover our deductible so I can have it done. We will pay them back when we are back on our feet. Now, I just have to make sure that our premiums were paid for this month. Since my hubby has worked this month, my sis says they should have already paid the premium and cannot take it back. I know that the surgery isn't a cure all. I really hate my period and am hoping that once that never happens again that I can deal with the pain if it is still there.
Hopefully, the job hunt for him will be short and we will be back on our feet soon. This stuff just sucks.

all right ladies... We have three going in for the Hyster very soon. Can we get a refresher as to the dates of when who is going in??? Big Gal, Keri, Linda and Pamela. AND I expect all of you to join me on the menopause thread and keep us updated as soon as you feel up to it so other ladies can know if this is even a good option to pursue.
