Yeah I asked my doc about sex at my six week check and he said if I couldn't wait okay but it would probably hurt. He advised me it would be better to wait a couple of weeks longer. After having pain with sex from endo for so long, I think I will wait. But, I don't want my first experience after surgery to be painful and make me hesitant to try again. I don't want to be disappointed and think the hyster didn't help at all either, so we're waiting. We're planning to go away in a couple weeks without the kids so hopefully I will be feeling up to it then.

Was that because of the endo or the bowel resection that he suggested you wait? I'm curious because on Hyster sisters they said sometime to wait a few more weeks but its usually six weeks. My doc said with my speedy healing powers I should be good at five weeks. I hope so... Longest I ever went was about 10 days! Even after the babies were born. I don't know how I can survive six whole, very long, weeks. Especially since a lot of the ladies report and big hype in sexual drive about week four. I don't know if they kept the ovaries or not though. My last ovary is covered in crap so its OUTTA THERE!

Hi guys, apparently I crashed this morning at 6:30, scared the freakin crap out of hubby, who was getting ready to give plastic (as in he was going to Tube me) I am better now. My O2 sats were 60 when I came to, the room was full of people, like a 3 ring circus and the hubby was yelling at me to breath

I have to wait for sex because of the extent of my surgery for the endo part of it. I had a large nodule that had penetrated through the back wall of my vagina so there was a little more repairing done in that area.
Karla, hope you are recovering well and back to sex in no time!

Partial hyster means they are leaving the cervix? total means that the cervix is going. BSO or bilateral salpingo oopherectomy means the ovaries are going. Mine could not be done vainally because of the extent of my endo. I had a abdominal incision also although a better doctor should be able to do it laprasocpically. You said you had a good doctor so he should be able to do everything laprasopic which means a better recovery time!!

good question... hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, (that's the easy stuff) , foggy brain or memory loss, there are bone loss issues as well. I'm taking multi-vitamins, calcuim and gingo. I guess vit. b complex can help with the mood swings. I'm also going temporarily on Prozac to help with the mood swings while my body adjusts. Its pretty serious decision and I'm one of those that over researches everything! lOL

One more week.... Oct 7th is the date. Of course, I'm due for my period on the 8th and am feeling the pain already and cannot take anything but Tylenol. This sucks! My final pre-op is Friday. Anybody have questions they wish would have asked in the pre-op or before the surgery? I cannot think of anymore questions.
Thanks!

I had the same thing Big Gal. You can ask your doctor for percoset or any of the narcotics if the pain gets bad. you just can't take Ibuprofen becuase it can act as a blood thinner.

Oh, thank you Karla. I wasn't sure if I could take Percoset. I just ran out last night and have been trying to live on Tylenol today. I did call my doctor and left a message. Hopefully, I can get a hold of them tomorrow and get another prescription tomorrow. I think I can manage tonight, but the pain is really ramping up.
Does anyone know if my doctor will look at my gallbladder while in there? I'm going to tell them that I've been having upper right quadrant pain too. During my first pre-op the doctor pushed there and about sent me through the roof and I've been in pain there ever since.
Thanks,
Alison

Only a general surgeon can look at the gall bladder. Is one going to assist our gynecologist? If so then ask him to look at the gall bladder and appendix while in there
