Good luck Bigal with your upcoming surgery and all the other girls:) I am glad it all worked out and you did not have to cancel. I go in October 21st for my surgery I am little nervous well alot nervous LOL. I will be doing it without any pain meds so I have no idea what to expect with the pain after the surgery. I go into my doc this thursday to talk about what all is going to happen surgery day. It is coming up so fast!

I had my pre op today. Thought all went well until the very end when I got to the office manager to discuss my insurance. Well the library just changed our insurance company I had United and we changed to Anthem. My HR lady told me we should not have any problems however my Dr's office said Anthem will have to pre approve this surgery and they do not approve hysterectomies the same as United Health Care does. She told me to either be prepared for a delay or some extra testing! Wtf I am approved by one insurace company and now have to go threw BS with this new one. I am so over all of it. I will know by next week what is going to happen. I can not live like this much longer. If I loose more blood and my iron levels go down anymore I may not be around for surgery. I walked out not very pleased. It is not my Dr. office fault but my gosh what is the deal it was scheduled before we switched companies. It was not my choice to change my employer changed because United Health SUCKS. Sounds like Anthem may not be any better! As for the medicine issues after surgery I am looking at having no meds for the nausea and no meds for the pain. Doc said it is too risky. I asked well how should I feel and the nurse looked at me like oh honey not good. LOL! I am having my husband bring in a relaxtion cd for me and I am bringing my own blanket sprayed with my favorite scented linen spray. I hope with the power of sound and scent I can relax and recover quick. I have no idea how long I will be in the hospital. What is the typical stay anyways for a hysterectomy? I know I am far from a regular patient but maybe I could be home the next day since they can not dope me up with meds maybe they can just send me home? Hmmmm.... savings on the hospital stay and pain med bill LOL!

My lap was scheduled before insurance switched, and then we switched and I had the lap. My new insurance company had a 'transition' person that was assigned to me to make sure that my change in insurance didn't create a lapse in my care. I had to talk to them about my docs (they told me I could no longer see my general practitioner, which I was fine with, and they offered to refer me to someone else within their plan, and my surgeon was in-network so it was all good) and my treatment and they made sure that things went off without a hitch. Might be worth looking into to see if your new company has something similar.

Hi Everybody. Sorry it has taken so long for me to update you all... My surgery went well, had a few rough moments, but so far I'm doing well now. My parents just left today so now I have a few minutes to update. I'm totally amazed, my worst pain lately has been under my right ribs and my gall bladder is completely normal and the pain is now completely gone! I hope the pain relief continues and it's just not the percoset, HA!
I'll try and get online tomorrow to give details of what the doctor did. I'm just so glad it's over and thank you all for all the positive thoughts!

Tired! I guess that is expected though. I'm doing pretty good though. Some pain, but the percoset is taking care of it. I'm going on my first outing after a week hanging around the house. Doctor's appointment tomorrow to get more of an explanation of things. I kept my ovaries, a little disappointed my doctor kept the one that had endo on it. But, at least she removed the endo from it. She removed my appendix just in case and uterus and cervix are also gone. I have to ask her about my bladder she didn't say if there was endo on it... I had two other spots of endo behind my uterus. Hopefully, it's all gone now and I will be good to go for a long time.
I hope everyone else is healing well, rest up!
