It sounds like you really need to see a wound care specialist. Call your PCP doctor and ask about it, (DEMAND IT). Many of the wound care specialist around here work with Home health to treat you at your own home. I don't know if its the same there. Please find one though as these bad infections take a very long time to heal and the faster you get to a specialist the faster you can get the right treatment. I have seen a lot of those kinds of wounds at the hospital and long term care facilities while I have been in nursing school. I'm so sorry your having to deal with this! I had a small infection my last surgery and it was brutal. I really can't imagine the frustration you must be having. I'm sending huge healing thoughts your way!

Ugh, I'm so sorry for all of this, Kimmie. Thank goodness for your primary doc. Is there a time frame when they can put you on the right antibiotics? I had a terrible reaction to antibiotics last time, that can be tough. I hope you are feeling better soon.

On one of the trips to the hospital we looked into wound care and my insurance will not cover it. I cant afford to pay for it out of pocket at all. I just give up. I am so done with it all, even though I cant be because i have a fever and a hole above my bikini line that wont let me give up.

You still have the fever, Kimmie? What are you doing about it? What is your primary care physician doing?

Yeah I still have a fever. She wants to put me on cypro but because the Keflex and Augmentin messed up my stomach so bad she can't. So right now she is monitoring my wbc and has me eating yogurt to help fix my stomach.

Kimmie I just want to say you sound a lot like me with you endo symptoms, your worries and stuff...I'll probably be scheduling surgery next week and I'll most likely schedule it for six weeks from now when my summer class is over. Although I may drop summer school and have the surgery earlier because not knowing what is going on is killing me and I'm in so much pain. So Much!
I'm sorry you had such a terrible time post-op. It sounds like something that would happen to me since I'm prone to infections. So I'm gonna have to be really careful post-op. It must've been a relief that they found endo though? You were worried they'd find nothing!

I feel so helpless. Having all this going on is bad enough, but not being able to do anything about it is so frustrating. Especially when I requested a wound culture to make sure I was being treated right and my Surgeon told me not necessary and would not do it. So I had to go to my primary to get it done and it was already two late and both antibiotics were wrong. I hope the lawyer I go to on Tuesday can help do something about this Surgeon I do not want someone else to end up like me. Tomorrow is 6 weeks since the surgery and I am still open possible stitches Tuesday but the lump is still in my stomach and I am still sick. I am way past frustrated.

so glad you sought out a lawyer and are getting this sorted. Hopefully you can see the wound specialist right away and get everything taken care of. Best of luck xxx. If you get the no fault health insurance then that'd be great! Your health is the most important thing ever and they need to get it right. I'm so sorry you've had such a terrible time with your doctor and everything!

Geez I can't believe that surgeon was going to sew you up for the heck of it. It's not "up to you." He should do what's best for your care. UGH. How are you doing today?
