Okay, so I took the first dose of Picolax 2.5 hours ago. Nothing is happening yet, but I'm officially afraid :S Watch this space.

I am not enjoying this experience at all. The peeing out of my bum started right after my last post and literally hasn't stopped. I expected to have at least like 10 minutes between movements but literally the second I get off the toilet I have to sit back down again. And I still have to take another dose later on in the day! Eeek! I'm hoping there'll be a gap in between doses where the effects of the first one have worn off. Otherwise hubby'll just have to do all the pre-op houswork and packing for me when he gets home.

One thing about the peeing out the butt thing is once your bowels are empty all that kinda stops. You won't be stuck like that for a very long time. But yeah, bowel preps sure are fun aren't they?

It makes me sad when I read bowel preps because I know someone on here is getting ready for a surgery:( Good Luck hannah jex! If you do not release it all ask for a enema before you go under of course. It sounds as tho it is working but just in case it does not you always have that as a back up.

''behindular zone'' HAHAHAAA!
"(For those unfamiliar with the metric system, a liter is about 32 gallons.)" HAHAHAH that's not true!! but so funny!!!!
"MoviPrep tastes -- and here I am being kind -- like a mixture of goat spit and urinal cleanser, with just a hint of lemon." HAHAHHAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!
"took off my clothes and put on one of those hospital garments designed by sadist perverts" HAHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was such a great article!!!

"At which point, as far as I can tell, your bowels travel into the future and start eliminating food that you have not even eaten yet" ... my absolute favorite line!!

HAHAHA! I've never had to do a bowel prep, but I think this sums up what I've heard from others about it: "Have you ever seen a space shuttle launch? This is pretty much the MoviPrep experience, with you as the shuttle. There are times when you wish the commode had a seat belt."
"Eddie also told me that some people put vodka in their MoviPrep. At first I was ticked off that I hadn't thought of this, but then I pondered what would happen if you got yourself too tipsy to make it to the bathroom, so you were staggering around in full Fire Hose Mode. You would have no choice but to burn your house."

LOL, I love Dave Barry; he's hilarious! I was reading his guide to marriage and/or sex while I was in hospital; it's SO funny!

Hello ladies- This is my second bowel prep in 2 weeks, so I feel I've become an expert...and I've had a revelation...I've discovered a secret to good bowel prep....instead of sitting here in misery gulping this hideous concoction down, I said, I'll listen to Stevie Wonder! His song Sir Duke is one of my favs. LOL Nothing like drinking a cocktail of mag citrate and crystal lite while dancing around my house to good ol' Stevie! It really does help it get down easier! ;D And the fact that I was listening to Sir "Duke" is kinda funny, since it IS a bowel prep afterall...ODE TO THE PREP! I think I've started a new tradition in my house...all preop nights and preps will be ushered in with my favorite music. This second prep is needed for my laparoscopy in the morning! Keep your fingers crossed no bowel surgery is needed. I'll let everyone know how it goes. Hope everyone had a nice weekend and take care.

Reading some of these really makes my prep seem like overkill. Clear liquids starting at 4pm, two Fleet enemas (one at 4pm, the second at 8pm) AND mag citrate at 6pm. at least the lemon is bearable mixed with lemonade - just super-sour.
