HI my beautiful ladies!!
Sorry it's taken a few days to update you, but MAN does percocet turn me into a mess!
I've been SO sleepy and when I try to concentrate on the computer screen everything gets soooo blurry! But here goes:
So on Tuesday (the day of my surgery) I was his first patient of the day, so I had to be there at 6am (BLARGH!). The nurses and everyone at the hospital were ASTONISHINGLY nice and caring. Such a difference compared to what I've experienced in the past. Not a single person was rude or dismissive, which made it so much easier for me to head into surgery stress-free. My anesthesiologist came through to talk about what he was going to do for me. They gave me a nausea patch fro behind my ear which worked wonders! He was so hot too, btw, and his wife is named Jessica! Too funny.
So, right on schedule, Eric (the anesthesiologist) wheeled me into the OR and the last thing I remember is them sliding me onto the operating table.
My parents waited in the lounge for m to be finished. Redwine had originally predicted the surgery to last 1-1.5 hours, and he was under the impresison that I only had endo in my cul de sac. In actuality, the surgery took two hours and he found endo in the cul de sac, on my left ovary, and on my bowel. I stayed in the hospital until 3pm. I got my own room! They make great milkshakes lol.
I have my post-op with Dr. Redwine on Monday (the 19th) and should be able to give you all a better idea of what my endo situation was. For now all I know is what I mentioned above. It was in the cul de sac, on my ovary, and bowel. I'll know more by Monday!
Now as far as the lap pain goes.. you guys are going to LOVE this: Dr. Redwine uses a cutting edge technique where, after he's done working on you, they do a "deep exhilation" to get out the gas that they had pumped into you. So get this.. I have had ZERO gas aches/pains at ALL! He did such a great job! That being said, this go around I have significantly more surgery pain, probably because of how much he took out and my insides are somewhat like swiss cheese
I have been taking Percocet for the pain, and it's been great except that I have a mild allergic reaction to it --my skin starts crawling and I get SO itchy! Although ti also makes me really drowsy, I like it because it handles the pain and doesn't make me nauseous or incoherent. I'm okay with dealing with the itching and the sleepiness in exchange!
So that's all I can think of right now off the top of my head.. Please feel free to pepper me with questions!! I'm happy to share details of my experience. I'm just having a little troubel with recall right now because MAN! These drugs!! haha. I can barely read the computer screen lol.. anyway, hope you all are doing well! Thanks for the well wishes and support!!
