Well said, Cherry. I think we've all been a victim to the "I'm tougher than that" mindset after a lap. Take it easy, or else! As for Mirena, I had it inserted during my lap and taken out a few months later. I didn't have bad pain, but it was crampy, poking pain every now and then and I eventually wanted to see how I felt when I had it removed. Those pains went away as soon as it was out. Give yourself a few months to let your body get used to it and re-evaluate then.

Well, I've spent most of today sitting on the sofa catching up on Lost. Off out tonight with a few girlfriends for a meal and few drinks. Karen I will definitely give it a few months, the niggles are annoying but bearable.

Yeah it feels like nothing but I would warn every woman now, take care and listen to your body, just be safe rather than risk what I went through. Move about but just be gentle, the pain will tell you when to stop.

Owww. Flippin 'eck man! I took it easy yesterday, went out last night, nothing too strenuous but did overdo it on the booze and was a little bit ill when I got home but my innards are really giving me jip again today. And I'm bleeding a bit too which was totally unexpected. I was on day 3 of period when I had the lap, puts me on about day 12 now I think. It's not proper, just brownish murky stains. Gotta go back to work on Monday :-(

Oh, and my 'Endo Bible' arrived today :-). I wish it would stop referring to the previous book though. They really want you to go buy that one too don't they!

Hmm, endo bible? Endo - the complete ref for taking charge of your health? If so, let me know what you think! For me, it was eye opening. Is it the Sourcebook that they keep referring to? I have it but never got far in it, didn't seem as useful for me, but don't let that discourage you if you're thinking about it.

Yeah that's the one Karen..........based in your reccomendation! Some bits or good, I like the way it tells you what all the different hormone drugs do etc. The references to the Sourcebook are driving me mad though, like you're supposed to be flicking between two books to get all the info! Really annoying!

I think chapters 4, 5, and 7 were the ones I poured over the most as I really, really related to a lot of what was in there, particularly the part about the immune system as I've had issues with allergies and other sensitivities my entire life. That was what gave me the push to try a more whole-body approach. It also made endo so much more understandable, which in turn, made it less scary. Ok, I'll jump off my soap box now.

Nah I get it. I'm the same. I've 'known' for years that something wasn't right in my body. I've researched any number of diseases/conditions because therre had to be something to explain how crap I was feeling. I'm excited about making changes now and feeling healthier. Pain has gone today but I'm still 'leaking' a murky reddish-brown smear.

Reddish brown, I remember getting that stuff when i was like a teenager. It's been a long time. That used to indicate when my period was starting, or when it was ending. I've gotta get that book you all keep talking about. Maybe I can be cheap and sit in borders and read it. LOL

Yeah I always get it at the end, but I 'shouldn't' be bleeding at all right now. It's disappearing again. Borders gone down the pan over here. Which is a complete disaster because the local Starbucks was in there too.

I remember buying the book and finding it was WAY cheaper than I thought it would be. I just looked - it's $13 on Amazon! (List price is only $19) Better yet, get it for free at the library!

Had a better day today. No horrific cramping, but we'll see what happens later cos I've traipsed round shops for hours today.
Whilst in the shopping centre I came across a Chinese Medicine store, and they actually had Endo listed as one of the conditions they have treatments for. So I asked, and she said I needed to have a consultation with thd doc first. This was FOC, so I thought 'Why not?'. The girl came in to translate which I found a little bizarre. You generally don't find people in this country running their own shop who don't speak English. And he did speak a little...like 'Let me take your pulse'. Anyways, the stuff he came out with was BANG IN THE MONEY. Pain, bloating, constipation etc etc. Talked about 'total blockage'. I'm completely open to alternative therapies and the idea of blocked emotions manifesting in medical conditions etc. He reccomended a session of acupuncture which I expect he would have done there and then. Place loooked well equipped and clean enough but I think if I'm going to down that route I want to go to someone who has been reccomended by someone I know. I has some acupuncture via NHS a few years ago and it did seem to give quite a bit of relief. Also the herbal remedy she was trying to flog me was about £35 for a few days supply, so I said thanks but no thanks. I'm going to use a mixture of what the doc has prescribed, a healthier diet and exercise to try and control this, for now at least. Maybe some acupuncture. And a friend of mine practices Reike.

Sounds like an interesting experience! Although I'm all for alternative therapies, I agree with you - best to go with someone that a friend has recommended. Better to hand out your money to someone that someone you know trusts! (I found my acupuncturist, chiropractor/nutritionist, and therapist all from the same friend! And she was SO right about all of them!!) I think you have a good game plan in general, and isn't it nice to know that there are other alternative treatments out there in case you need a boost or to try something else?
Hey, meant to ask, how are you doing with the ciggies?
