I have cried so much lately it isnt funny. I use to be a outgoing person that was always happy. Now I can watch jon and kate plus 8 and be crying. A friend called and told me that she was prego and I cried. I am thinking that I am getting a littl depressed myself which I have never been and dont really understand or know if I am or not. So many people say that I am cause I dont want to do anything. I just want to be by myself about a day or so ago I didnt even want my husband to touch me. I cried all day long from the pain and not really knowing what to do about the endo and my post op appt being on july 22 and my surgery was june 29th. I am just tired of hurting and with the endo I have gained 25 lbs. (water weight) but I am only eating maybe 2 small meals a day. I activity level hasnt changed much except in the pasted 6 months I dont have engery and dont wanna do anything but at the same time I dont get any sleep cause I am so restless from not doing anything. It is a catch 22 and I am hating it.

I totaLly understand. I think its grieve. Since my dad died I've read a bit on grieve. We are all grieve because our bodies don't work like they should which is upsetting then also our hormones are all in a tiff.. Btw jon and kate made me so angry they r both horrible parents IMO.. Buying cars that won't even fit there kids.. Ugh..

I am finally getting into a doctor for depression. Trying to understand this disease and everything isnt easy. And I just feel like crying all the time and stressed so bad. I dont wanna do anything. I dont even want my nephew around anymore and he always was at my apartment if I wasnt at work. My emotions have been so crazy since the birth control pill and finding out I had endo that I feel like I am going to have a nervous breakdown. I actually had to call off last saturday cause I sat in my car for 10 mins before my shift was suppose to start and cried. I finally said forget it and went home. From all the pain and emotional problems I have been having I am about to lose my job. I HATE DIRECTV. Not helping my depression and emotions but that is a company that doesnt care about their employees.

Sorry you've been through so much. It's a lot to deal with, but I'm glad you're talking to your doc about it!

i'm interested in the emotional stress of endo because i have endo but i'm also a therapist and there are even days when i get overwhelmed and depressed by the pain!! my advice (from the top of my head, i'm sure i'll think of more later) for stress management would be to make taking care of yourself your number one priority. we always put ourselves on the back burner. date yourself. pamper yourself. even though it seems crazy and impossible, scrounge together enough money to do something awesome for yourself, like get a massage, or acupuncture or reiki or whatever it is that makes you feel better. you invest money in maintaining your car (you get oil changes, and change your tires, right?) why not put money into maintaining your body?
i know we all have responsibilities to family, lovers, etc. but you really need to take care of yourself. when you are on an airplane, they tell you if there is a crash, you need to put the oxygen on yourself FIRST!! even before you put it on your infant child, or your grandmother. this is the same for life as well. you won't be able to ever take care of anyone if you are not well. taking care of yourself is different for everyone, but you might need to learn to say no to people and set boundaries so you are not spread too thin.
look into mindfulness meditation. this is a great tool for stress management. one book i LOVE is joan borysenko's "minding the body, mending the mind." i would highly recc. it to everyone!
another thing to look into is a therapist who does CBT. the basic premise is that your thoughts control your feelings, so you need to learn to change your thought patterns. if you can master this, you will change your life, no matter what external stressors are going on.
i am an art therapist, so i believe in the healing powers of the arts. so find some way to process your feelings and externalize them through a healthy medium (dance, poetry, visual art, music, etc.)
an interesting technique i just recently learned about at a seminar is called EFT (emotional freedom technique.) you can do it to yourself, and it's really easy to learn. it involves tapping on acupressure points, it's a similar concept to acupuncture. look it up on youtube (free to learn this way) or go to emofree.com. lots of therapists are starting to use this with clients. they are even making a documentary about using EFT with iraq veterans with PTSD. it is being used for emotional issues as well as physical /pain issues. it is sort of similar to EMDR, if you are familiar with that technique.

My hypnotherapist did the tapping thing w/ me for PTSD. It was amazing, and I left convinced that she is a witch. LOL! She called it "thought field therapy." Totally amazing!

Why does being a woman have to hurt so much? Makes me mad sometimes. My life is pretty crappy too at the moment, no energy, constant pain, constant crabbiness, no energy......I know you all know the story.

ouchy, TFT is pretty similar to EFT. I think EFT is just easier/quicker for people to learn and do by themselves. How did hypnotherapy work for you? That's something I don't know a lot about.

This was totally easy to learn, and she even gave me papers on it and the tapping points. If this was that easy, then the EFT must be super easy! What about it makes it quicker/easier? Do you say the algorhythms (spelling?) fewer times or something? I think the Thought Field Therapy worked better for me than the hypnotherapy. Still pretty awesome.

i don't know a lot about TFT, but i think participants have to learn numerous tapping algorithims, which are each specific to a different issue. EFT is more universal (covers a lot of issues, and because TFT is so specific, sometimes it can't treat specific diagnoses) and there is one main tapping algorithim for everything.

Oh wow. Well, this was used for everything from PTSD, fear of spiders, to migraine headaches, or so she said (and the papers on it). Tapping points were the same, just morph the wording to fit the problem.
