In the last few months I have become totally exhausted. I constantly feel drained and have absolutely no energy. I have even cut my working hours and yet I have a desk job. I find that even when I get more than enough sleep it makes no difference. I am only 30 and yet I feel 90!
I know that fatigue is another symptom of endo and I just hope when I get my lap this will help!

Hey donnadee - I know how you feel. I have been off work totally since Feb 8th. I am going to see my specialist about a lap on March 12. No matter how much sleep I've had I still don't feel rested - ever! My doctor said that being in constant pain is extremely exhausting to the entire body.. even if you are feeling it all the time. Also, if you are taking pain killers and such, they work to numb the pain, but as soon as they wear off its like a new incident to your brain. I thought I was so tired before I stopped working... now its so much worse. Its also because you take the time to relax - so you become more concious of the aches and pains.. which in turn become more tiring. Its a vicious circle..

I get incredibly exhausted in the mid afternoon. So tired I want to make a bed under my desk like George on Seinfeld I have found B vitamins help a lot. EmergenC (fizzy vitamin drink) is a good pick me up. So is resting when I feel tired. Acupuncture helps me to get better quality of sleep which helps some, but fatigue is just a part of my life right now. I am also hypo-thyroid, which should be corrected by my medication but I think it still slows me down.

I can relate to feeling exhausted - have felt that way for 10yrs. I only did 4 months of full time work and couldnt handle it. Ever since, I've only been working 4-5 hour days. Now I'm only working an 8 hour week and I still feel busy and stretched to get the work done, and I work from home! (It's a desk job too - but fatigue makes it so hard to sit up straight and concentrate.) People ask me what I've been up to and I say I've been really busy, but when it comes to saying how, I only list like two things! Oh, and I love hanging out with elderly people because their pace suits mine. Some can beat me up the stairs... and I'm 28. Yeah - it doesn't matter how much sleep I get or whether I've been physically active or eating well or anything, I've had enough time to notice that none of those things make much difference. And, like pain, it's one of those things where if you mention it to someone, because they have felt tired before, they tell you they know exactly how you feel (I know they're only trying to help). There's a song that says "I'm so tired of waking up tired", gee I can relate to that line! I differ from most of you in that I don't have constant pain, but I do have constant fatigue. A bit of a puzzle, I suppose. I've been desperate to find a reason for it and I'm hoping endo will officially explain it once I have my lap. Anyway... tired lazy hugs for my endo fatigue girls. Hope it goes away for you soon.

Can definitely relate to all thats said.
Ive stopped working, and for a while it made no difference, seemed just as tired. Im not even sure tired is the word, coz its not lack of sleep. Just utter and absolute exhaustion.
But funnily enough im on my 2nd good day at the moment, barely any fatigue, its amazing. Am really hoping its not random luck and that what i am doing is helping.

I think endo can lead to chronic fatigue!

Yeah, thats what my GP thinks i have now, from the chronic pain.
No fun whatever it is. My post earlier was wrong, by the arvo i was exhausted like normal. But i guess at least its a good sign that ive had some time feeling reasonably good.

I felt ok on the weekend... I tried doing the things that I used to do like cooking and cleaning and shopping... its Wednesday now and I feel like I ran a marathon each day for the past month! I know that sounds exaggerated, but I don't know how else to describe it! I mentioned in another post that going up and down the stairs in my house is so much of a chore, and showering... I am so tired after showering. I barely blowdry my hair anymore cause its too much for me to sit there and hold the dryer up. It's pretty rediculous actually. No wonder excersise isn't an option

I wish too that other people wouldn't equate fatigue with laziness... thats an unfair assumption.

^ Totally!!!! I remember that I used to be SO fatigued that I couldn't even stand to iron a few of my husband's shirts that he wears to work! He took it as I was lazy--but it was just extreme fatigue and pain I had before my first lap.

That's how I feel right now...I am doing my dishes in stages how bad is that! It's not laziness, it's fatigue...extreme.

I'm sorry to hear about everyone's troubles, but I have to confess it does feel good to not be alone! Yesterday I was feeling guilty about doing my dishes in stages (Actually, I have to do stage 2 today.) I end up in tears of frustration! I can relate to not being able to hold my arms up long enough to do my hair! My hairstyle hasn't changed for 15yrs. At my parent's house there were stairs, and I would have trouble climbing them some days! I would sit down in the middle for a rest! One thing I found helped... using my hands a few steps up to walk on all fours... it doesn't help when you get to the top few though! Oh yes and I HATE when people think you are lazy! Or having to analyse yourself to see whether there is any truth in it! I have often been told that if I did more, I would increase my energy. It may or may not be true but it just makes me feel even worse about my situation! I can also relate to having good days and bad days. Recently, I got completely exhausted doing a short walk. I was in tears on my way home and it felt like I was walking to the Pit of Doom. The very next day I walked about 4 times as much and felt as though I could have kept going. There's just no sense to it all.
