I understand all you ladies completely! I'll sleep for 9 hours and wake up and after hour of being awake I'll be tired enough to go back to bed (I never do go back to bed). I recently found out that my B12 and iron levels are low and both can cause fatigue and exhaustion have any of you ladies been checked for this? I'm so sick of being tired.

Yeah Angelas i do find that even when i want to nap i cant.
I layed down yesterday arvo out of utter exhaution from god knows what, i barely had the energy to move, when my husband came home i didnt want to open my eyes, but i couldnt sleep. Crazy.
I dont think doing more will increase your energy neverendo, well it hasnt worked for me anyway. The more active i am the worse i am, its the only connection i can ever find to my symptoms, is wether ive overdone it.
I find the fatigue the worst symptom, amazingly, despite how bad the pain is, its the fatigue that stops me functioning in the world.

I remember not having the energy to draw a hot bath, but I would do it anyway. After relaxing in a hot, hot bath, I wouldn't have the energy to stand up and shower. Sometimes I would just soak in the tub and get out w/out showering!

wow! that sounds miraculous ouchy!! Yesterday I forced myself to have a shower and I had to stop twice while shampooing my hair cause my arms were so tired from holding them up!!
Does anyone feel like they sometimes have to remember to breathe? I know that sounds weird but seriously... like you have to take deep breaths?? I just feel like when I come up the stairs or finish showering or something that I'm panting... or not getting enough air or something...

Thanks for that link Camille! That is a very very sad way to feel. I am now thanking god that I don't feel that bad. Mind you I decided today I was going to clean the bedroom and organize all our laundry to get done (thats one thing thats suffered since I've been home) and now I am totally exhausted. Everything aches and I keep having to take the deep breaths I was talking about earlier.
I really hope this isn't an indication of things to come.... I just pray everyday that I can have my surgery soon... I need this to stop.

angelas... i get weird breath related things too! Sometimes I find myself taking in a huge breath because I must have been breathing too shallow. If I am around cigarette smoke, instead of being like "gee that smells", I get kind of claustrophobic about it and I have to get away so I can breathe. I have this personal theory that my blood isn't very good at keeping oxygen in it. As for stairs... I start getting light headed after the first few steps. I'm also light headed if my shower was too hot. I also get more light headed around my period... I bump into walls and stuff. Strange... Maybe we should start a breathing thread??

My mother, father, and now my husband all have to remind me to breathe!

I sometimes notice, when the pain and fatigue are particularly bad and im struggling that im breathing quick and erratic, makes my heart race faster. Kinda like an anxiety attack except there is no anxiety.
I have to remind myself then to breath slowly and deeply.
Breathing has also been strangely my best friend at times, sometimes all i can do is focus on my breathing, it has gotten me through possibly some of the worst pain and nausea. I have to shut my eyes and focus hard but it works, it gets me through those really bad moments.

The last few posts have been very interesting to me, and I would like to discuss it further - so I am going to start a thread on breathing... if you could repost what you experience I would really appreciate it!! Thanks!

angelas, in the other thread you mentioned that the constant pain might make you light headed.. well I just thought I'd let you know that I regularly get light headed and I don't have constant pain. I also sometimes get what I can only describe as "head nausea". It's weird.

sorry about starting that other thread about the breathing stuff... I should have just continued here. By head nausea do you mean dizzyness? I also have to mention that I am so glad that I am not the only one here that has the problems with breathing!! Yet again its another one of those things that I seriously thought it was me! I also never thought to talk to the doctor about it since I figured they would tell me its because I don't do enough. After you have been walking and you feel light headed and breathless (whether just up the stairs or for a longer walk) do you ever get little poking sensations in your legs? like pins and needles but spaced farther apart?? I always thought that was circulation.. but now I'm not too sure...

Last night, i went to an engagement party. I sat in a chair for 4hrs, the only strenuous activity was engaging in conversation.
I was so exhausted, i couldnt carry on, i threw myself in a bath when i got home and after the bath i was so exhausted i lay on the bed trying to slow my breathing down and my heart, it was like id run a marathon. Crazy!!!
May be worth mentioning to the doctor Angelas, always good to tell em as much as u can. But i wouldnt be surprised if it was brushed off, with mine i think its just the fatigue which is just a side effect of the pain, its frustrating but i dont think the docs could do much about it.

By head nausea I mean feeling unwell in my head, but not in a psychological way, more of a balance kind of way yeah, it reminds me heaps of stomach nausea, I struggle to find the right name or description for it. At such times I struggle with reading, computers, flashing lights, car travel, loud noise, concentration, etc. When I haven't walked for a while I sometimes get a weird tingly feeling in my legs, but I do think it's entirely possible to be a circulation / lack of exercise thing. Especially since I don't get it when I've been able to walk more regularly. I will have to start paying more attention to it I guess!
