Hi Shona, there are so many days that I feel that same way. I'm sure we all do. Its just so hard when there doesn't seem to be much we can do about it. I know you said that you don't want to let the pain beat you. Ignoring it isn't the answer either. I tried ignoring my pain and body for the last few years and now I'm paying for it. If you need to cry then cry... but don't think its because you are giving up, think that it is because you are listening to yorself, and pain that bad means there is something wrong inside. There are a lot of postings on pain medicine and pain management. Until I read those threads I felt so hopeless in being able to gain back any control of my body. It will take more effort to make those minor changes but it will be so worth it for you.
You have come to the right place for advice. I know that all of us have been where you are, and many of us still are. Keep your chin up, and stay strong. You will beat this thing, it will not beat you.

If you want to talk about it I'm here for you. Sometimes just letting it out to someone that knows what it all feels like is the best remedy.
Hang in there Shona... we'll get you through this! : )

I'm sorry to hear of all your troubles Shona . Hang in there. Why aren't you allowed any pain relief, If you don't mind me asking? When I have my period pain meds become my best friend. Rin

It is totally a lot to take in at once that is forsure... I still remember when I found out it was endo, I was so overwhelmed about what it meant, what it was, how I was feeling, how I would feel etc, my head was spinning! The way that I handled that was to talk to people, and do as much reasearch on my own as I possibly could. There is a lot of ignorance out there surrounding this disease, but we who have it don't have to be that way. This board is a wealth of information, and it gives you a lot of choices. That said, you still have to give yourself time to 'greive' the reality of what your body is going through. You have to come to terms and accept that its happening, and yes its terrible, but now is the time to take the proper steps to gain that control. You've already done the first step and thats by talking about it with people that know what its like. Now you can start finding ways to be comfortable, and take care of yourself. Even if you can't take any more pain medicines, there are some natural remedies that some of the women on here have tried and love... It may take a long time for you to find whats going to make you feel the best about it, but by tyring to figure that out, you are pretty darn strong!! Hold that thought!!

I agree with kb why should you have to suffer. I would get a new doctor or go and talk to another doctor. Sometimes it seems that doctors may think that you are drug seeking, But hey with endo pain meds are needed. Take care.
