welp for the first time in my menstral life something shocking happened. i found out, i O-ed on cd 30, and i have a 31-32 day cycle to start with, so this is BEYOND late. my body must have been held up for some crazy reason, why i do not know, but does that mean my chances are gone, of getting preggo? i did have good luvin around this day eventhough i was expecting AF, and certainly not this, but so late in a pretty regular cycle? why? i wasn't super stressed at all this month, quite lax, so that isn't it.
oh and does late O, have ANYTHING to do with low progesterone? iam trying to figure out if it would be beneficial for me to start using my progesterone cream for the first time now, but i wanna help things, not hurt them, but iam not sure of what caused it to start with. anyone think i should use it, or it's totally unrelated??
thanks as always
hugs, michelle

Hi, Michelle. I've O'd beyond cd 30 several times, so I know how aggrivating it can be! It does NOT mean your chances for conceiving are gone, but the eqq quality might not be as good as it would be w/ an early O...although my gyne. said that he's seen healthy babies w/ O on cd80-something!
Late O has more to do w/ FSH/LH being messed up due to hormonal problems, which can also be caused by stress/illness, etc. Low progesterone wouldn't have anything to do w/ late ovulation, but it could have something to do w/ a luteal phase shorter than 14 days. If you have a short luteal phase (from O until AF), progesterone cream would be a good idea (or so my gyne. says). Progesterone is the primary hormone in the second half of the cycle, so it shouldn't have had much to do w/ your late O.

thanks ouchy. i had an HSG last cycle on cd 8 of the very cycle in which iam still in now..the late ovulation. i do have the flu right now, but my body couldn't have predicted it, so i wonder if there is ANY way the HSG since it was right before this, could have caused this, or played a hand in it...it's never happened before ever? IDK....i hope it doesn't have a re-occurance, but since i'll be on clomid if af comes, i should O on time, but who knows? what if it's all coincidence and my body is just slowly failing me?
ok..i'll quit the drama, and take the ++ points in your post to heart. i know egg quality doesn't get better with time, and someone made me think NO SHOT IN HELL, but just knowing there is some chance, come what may is comforting, so thanks for your remarks of kindness:) i will keep you posted, and if not this month, it will be comin. i just don't want a very painful af right smack on x-mas day, which is very close to when it would be due *sigh*...that'd be a kick in the butt. wine anyone?? has anyone seen the wine? lol.
hugs and thanks, michelle
