Once again I have started my period! It sucks so bad! It has now been four months and I know that isn't that long compared to some people but, not only do I want another child so bad, I want pain relief too! I have never felt as healthy as when I was pregnant and I hate who I am when i am in all of this pain! I am so miserable!!! I just was wondering if anyone knows of any kind of pills you can take to help w/ infertility? I have been using opk's and I am ovulating so that isn't the problem. I am gonna wait to call my doctor until January if nothing happens by then b/c I want to do the opk again this month and see if we have any luck. Sorry I am rambling on here I am just at my wits end on what to do. Thanks for listening!

Jenn, are you taking your temps. or having your progesterone blood level checked after your OPK's show ovulation approaching? Sometimes women aaaaaaaaaaalmost ovulate (+OPK's) and then don't. Taking your temps. at the same time each morning or having your P4 (progesterone) checked is the ONLY ways to know for sure if you are ovulating. You might ask your doctor for some hormone checks. You can get FSH/LH checked on day 3, then you can get P4 checked I think 14 days after you "think" you ovulated. If you are going 4 months without a period, there is most likely some type of hormonal component.
Your doc. can prescribe Clomid, which causes you to ovulate--if you're not ovulating. Some women also have had success with soy (You can do searches on both of these topics.).

jenn,
i also just got my period last week..i know exactly how you feel. i'm taking clomid 100g now and we'll see how it goes. do something about it and don't wait to see a gyne..i force my hubby to book me a gynae and in fact i went and buy the clomid myself when i can get it for free at the hospital..i was away and i didn't know that i have to take it the 2nd of menses...lucky i manage to get it. my gynae is suppose to give me an injection on the 1st ay of menses but i went outstation and can't get it..but taking clomid now make me feel a lot better..at least i'm doing something about it..i also use opk but that is not helping in fertility.

Thanks for all the info. I have been having my period...I meant I have been trying to get pregnant for 4 months. Another thing that is weird is that I never am regular. I used to spot all the time or skip a month at a time now I have been 31 days to the day for the last 2 months and nothing. I was wondering if the longer it takes to concieve if my endo could get worse and make it even harder? Thanks again:)

^ Really sounds like ovulation problems. Really try to get your doc. to check your FSH/LH on day 3 of your cycle. If you're actually not ovulating right, then the endo won't matter, because you can't get pregnant if your ovulation isn't working right.
If your endo isn't misaligning your tubes from your ovaries, it probably isn't what is causing you to not become pregnant. If the endo is on your tubes/ovaries, then you might have a problem. Wouldn't hurt to check w/ a fertility specialist. Make sure you tell him about your irregular cycles, though.

what if the problem isn't ovulation and is just from my endo.? I have an appt. on the 19 to talk to my doc. about the next step. I have talked to a lot of people who say do Clomid but, f I am ovulating I don't think that would be the right step? I don't know...I am just getting so frustrated!

It doesn't sound like it is only from the endo, but obviously ask your doc. If your tests come back showing that you ARE ovulating, then Clomid would only increase the amount of eggs, etc.

yeah i took clomid on certain days to produce more eggs, eventhough i had ovulated on my own, it just gave me more chances, and then now iam going to take it on different days in order to not produce more eggs, but produce more mature eggs, and regulate O, to give me a better chance, since iam suddenly having some irregularities right now.
you could have nothing wrong in and out, and take up to a year to get pregnant naturally, but i think ouchy is right, and talking to a specialist is best, sooner then later. i had really regretted not doing so with my 16 mo old, and taking action sooner. my gyn was clueless, and we wasted lots of time.
good luck

Yep. I think Clomid on days 3-7 gives more, smaller eggs, and days 5-9 gives fewer, bigger, and more mature eggs.

thats what they told me...with my last i was willing to risk it all, but now..nope, rather have the 'mature' one then have quads. i think my hubby would tip over. we took a big risk last time, so 5-9 is best for us, plus i wanna make sure one pops and hopefully on time, eventhough eigther time frame can help it pop, when having trouble.

Hi Jenn, I had been taking the opk and they were positive and I also could tell from my cervical mucus that I was ovulating. However, when I took my BBT my accupuncturist said that my temp wasn't behaving as it should after ovulation. I found out from a lap that my ovaries are fine but my tubes were closed so although I was ovulating there was no way I would get pregnant. Now my tubes are fixed and I'm hoping we can get pregant. J
