I've had no luck with my opk this month...i should have ovulated on day 13 (when last months ferning was the most) but now its day 16 and no luck, not even vaguely like ferning...no temp spikes either. did have the cervical mucous. have you been keeping up with your microscope...I realise now may be the wrong time to answer this post...my prayers are with you...answer when you are ready.

Hi, Lauren. Maybe you didn't ovulate this month or were under stress and it is just late ovulation coming? I've never seen full ferning. I have had the most luck w/ temping and ovulation chemist strips.
After I had the miscarriage...I still have not had my period..but I ovulated again a week after it happened!!! So still waiting my period.
Is there a chance you missed ovulation? have you taken a pregancy test?

Hey there ouchy, just keep being strong, you are such an amazing person! I had a temp spike around day 18 and my temp has stayed up there...so I figure that means ov but I had no real ferning...what I get instead of the simple dots is just the ones that look like little cells with tiny little lines...sortof like the transitional phase, but thats all I get...other than the not fertile stuff. I'm not going near preg tests. Hubby and I aren't really trying anymore...there's alot work wise and financially going on. but I'm keen to keep tracking and we are both fine if it just happens. I'm starting to get the hang of the temp thing now. copied that free bbt chart and am enjoying using it. hope everything is going well for you. did you get another job?

hehe. if it was the bbt chart i sent you, it was free because i made it glad it is working for you, though! i've been using fertilityfriend.com, rather than my chart lately, because it does the ovulation detecting for you. i wouldn't have even known i was pregant for that brief period of time last month without it, because i wouldn't have noticed that i ovulated on day 11. it's really a cool website. you just type in your temp and fertility signs (it even has a little ferning stats place, too), and it compares your chart with thousands upon thousands of other charts in the database (i think they've been collecting the charts since 1997 or something.). anyway, i have to say that i find it more useful than my chart! if you are interested.

Will go have a squiz...very interesting I had no idea they did all the figuring it out for you! I currently use both charts...I use yours for the detailed info and the other one for looking at the graph of the temp's. It's all so interesting! I'm so sorry again for your loss. when the time is right, then it will all be perfect...its what i tell myself.

Not a problem. I'm actually totally okay with what happened now, and I'm going for hormone testing on day 3 of my cycle next month.

^ I bought mine from Fertile Focus --> www.fertile-focus.com . They have great customer service, too! My lens came with a couple bubbles in it, so I just e-mailed them and had a new one two days later! My friend also ordered hers from that site, and she was quite impressed w/ it.

I am using the saliva detector as well (microscope) but the readings (ferns) does not correlate with the temperature ?? and their program is having some complications detecting the ovulation date...I see some kind of ferns (partial) almost every day and if I see full usually is not around when the temperature indicates ovulation? I also keep track of my cervical fluid but also it is not very consistent on my case so I guess I just need to keep tracking longer ... Have any of you have similar issues with the saliva detector, any tips that you can provide me ? or something I am missing? I have never used an OPK but maybe should be a good idea as a way to confirm? my periods are usually 25 days long but once in a while I get a 28 days...

Hi, apple. Actually, seeing ferning all the time (or seeing almost-positive lines on OPK's) is a common with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) from what I have read. Have you had your LH and FSH hormones tested? Constant ferning can also be a sign of pregnancy...what cycle day are you on?

Hi ouchy, I had blood work a number of times and my doctor said that everything is normal. He never mentioned if I have PCO but I know that I do have cysts on both of my ovaries. I just got my period yesterday, so today is day 2 of my cycle. I been using the saliva predictor for a while now and I been noticing the ferning almost all the time... I will try to mention this to my doctor on my next appointment but he is not very open minded regarding all these...

Hi, I had my appointment last Friday and asked my Dr about PCO and he said that I do not have it. I did ask him about knowing if I am in fact ovulation and his answer was: yes, I am sure, usually women with endo ovulate", so I said to him, well I kind of want to make sure I am since I am trying to get pregnant as he knows for a while now! so I finally convinced him and he make me an order to have a blood test (progesterone ) on day 21. Is this what usually your doctor ask you to test if are ovulating? He also say to buy the ovulation kit and I was planning to buy the ones from e-bay, any good feedback form this tests? I also had an ultrasound one back in October and he said that my right ovary is better and my Left the same with a 5cm cyst.

^ He can't really tell you that you don't have PCOS w/out doing hormone tests for LH/FSH. Women w/ endo usually ovulate--unless they have other problems inhibiting ovulation (like PCOS)...like me! I have both endo and ovulation problems (caused by hormone problems).

Yes, that's what I though but I asked him twice during the consultation and he finally (kind of frustrated) told me I am sure you do not have PCO. I may go back to my family doctor and ask him to do this test. Thanks for the advice!
