Hello everyone, I am going back in for lap on friday and I wanted to see if i could get some opinions from everyone. This will be my second lap in 2 years. The first one they removed a 3cm cyst from my left ovary, which was stuck to my abdomen wall, and removed a lot of scar tissue as well. After my first lap i went on back to back birth control for about 6 months, still had monthly pain and break through bleeding. SO i took myself off of it. I am now (2 years later) having a 7 cm cyst removed from my left ovary again, and the doctors think that it has probably reattatched its self to my abdomen wall again. I am 25 years old, no kids. I want them to remove my ovary because I no longer want to go through pain of having large blood filled cysts that will not go away on their own. It causes all sorts of problems in my daily and sex life, which im sure you all know about. Does anyone have any insite on whether or not I should beg the surgeon just to remove it?

Hummm. I agree with kb. Really up to you. That is a very tough decision to make, and I wish you the best in reaching the answer.

I agree only you can decide. I am in the process of deciding this too but I"m 32 with a child. My left ovary is attached to my colon and seems to be the source of my pain. I was on aygestin which worked great but they made me crazy. so I went on antidepressants to counter act that. I didn't like being numb so now I'm off them all. Pain is back. I think if they remove the ovary and only leave tiny bit attached to colon it would improve. But I don't know and I can't decide what to do,. Long story short only you can decide that.
