I was wondering if anyone could help me? I had a lap, got pregnant, did Lupron injections and now i am having the most severe pain ever and want another child before I have my hysterectomy but, my husband and I want to wait until spring unless there is no other option to try again. So I am wondering if there is any other surgeries you could have to maybe give me relief until then? I didn't know if I could have another Lap. if it would even help or if it's an option? I would really appreciate any info. Thanks! -Jenn

Firstly sorry to hear you are in severe pain.
I have not tried Lupron mainly due to hearing a lot of bad stories about it - largely that it worked really well for a period of time and then possibly stopped working and the severe pain returned. In regards to a different operation I do not see any harm in asking your gyno for another lap - there is nothing abnormal about wanting to have another child before having a hysterectomy. I am sure your gyno will understand and agree to doing another lap - if not find another gyno that is pre paired to listen to your needs. That probably is not help at all but I thought I would give my opinion.

There is really no limit to the number of laparoscopies you can have. Many people with endometriosis end up having several. If you want long-term relief you need to find a place that does excision surgery. There are only a few places that do that so it can be a big cost issue, but it is actually the best thing to do for endometriosis. It can offer you years of relief because it means removing the endometrial implants completely. In fact, if you are having a hysterectomy at all you should insist on having this done at the time of your hysterectomy because the implants will continue to grow even if you have a complete hysterectomy. But if you have excision done properly, you probably wouldn't end up needing a hysterectomy.

thank you everyone for responding to my questions. I have a wonderful doctor I just hate calling and asking questions which I know I shouldn't but, I just feel like I'm always complaining and wanted to find out on my own and do some research before called . So thank you for letting me know. I am going to be calling my doctor to see about having another surgery so that I can hold of until no sooner than August to get pregnant. I wanted to wait til spring but, unless something happens with this pain I can't wait that long and me and my husband want another child very badly. So thank you for the info!
