Hi everyone! Congrats Cherry on your MOTM! I wasn't sure where to put this, but since BC is a drug that many doctors put us on to help with the growth and pain of endo ( yeah right) I thought it fit best here. I have been off BC for about 4 months now, I try and stick to an all organic diet, always organic meats. So i haven't been in agonizing pain probably since a month after I went off BC and started my diet. Does anyone have experience with pain increasing or decreasing while NOT being on BC? I dont know if it's the combo of the two that is mostly helping with my pain, or one or other other. I would like to go back on BC for other reasons... but im scared to death that it will just make everything start all over. Any suggestions? comments?

Hi, jjuls! YES!!! A LOT of my daily pain that I thought was endo went away when I quit my continuous BC pills! Even intercourse didn't hurt like it used to when I was on the pills! My skin also started to become healthier! I also think diet has a lot to do with it. I started an insulin resistance diet recently, and I didn't have a single cramp during my last period! I think that a combination of quitting the pills and diet are probably helping your pain right now a lot! I'm still on the diet and will have to be for the rest of my life, so I'll keep you posted if it continues to help my pain, too! If you are looking for a safe, non-hormonal form of birth control, you could take a class on natural family planning. I'm using temperature charting, a saliva ovulation microscope, and ovulation test strips. When done correctly, it's 99% effective.

Well I dont' do pills, but I have the mirena IUD for birth control. I stopped getting periods after 1 month and I have no pain due to no periods. I started getting occasional twinges but Jan 1st I started working out and eating better and no more pain at all.

Um, I actually think my pain decreased. I was in the hospital two times before I had my laparoscapy, in January and February of last year, and then I started taking birth control pills and it seemed like I was okay.
At that point though, I was perscribed birth control pilled solely for ovarian cysts, so I don't know exactly how it effected the endometriosis, as I didn't know I had it then. I take Alesse, just for the word.
