Hello there, Has anyone received good advice from their specialist about the benefits or otherwise of using natural progesterone cream instead of HRT while on GnRH analogues (Zoladex, Prostap, Decapeptyl, Synarel)? Mine doesn't know. He asked me to find out. I have no idea whether the progesterone cream can interact with the GnRH analogue or if it works fine or if it converts to oestrogen while the analogue lowers the ovaries' production of oestrogen. I'd rather not be a guinea pig and risk it and have opted to use nothing but non hormonal methods of managing side effects and protecting bone density loss until I know any more about this.

Hi,
I still don't know the answer to this, but it seems that there is a cream which combines well balanced propotions of natural oestrogen (oestriol, I think) plus natural progesterone. That would probably make more sense and be more effective for at least some of the oestrogen deficiency symptoms, without having to resort to synthetic oestradiol.
Has anyone tried this?
I'm still managing the hot flushes with non hormonal methods and hope not to have to use any hormones at all.
