thanks apple. my gynae said 2 -3months but i think it depends on your body. hey, how you been doing after that? do you still have pain?. actually i have to been on it for 6 months but it driving me crazy sometimes especially the bone pain. so it's by faith i decided to stop and take alternatives instead.
one more question. do you have a painful period after you stop? have a nice day

Well my gynecologist plan was for me to have for 6 months, but the side effects made this impossible... I had terrible bone pain, mostly on my back and burning feeling on my nerves (parestesia... that is a side effect of this drug as well) I was hospitalize for 2 weeks and then I stop zoladex... after a month side effects got better but I have to take neurontin for some time, pain came back with my periods... Last year I saw a Chinese doctor and a naturopathic doctor and the side effects of the drugs were almost all gone. Yes, I still have pain with my periods (quite bad 1st and 2nd day) but some other symptoms got better I believe after some natural approaches. I've done some research about alternative options and change my diet, and I am still seeing a Chinese doctor. This acupuncturist that I am seeing is giving me some Chinese herbs and supplements but still to early to say if any major improvements. I am also trying to get pregnant but not luck yet. On another thread I read that you are taking some Chinese herbs as well, are you noticing any particular improvements? are you having fertility problems as well? I notice that my periods got shorter (3 days) quite light (anyway I never had very heavy periods) and a lot less clots (almost nothing) but still have to take pain killer 1-2 day. My periods were usually 25 days long but since treatment I got a couple of 28 days long periods... Have you had these situations?

btw do you have laporotomy too? what stage is your endo? 6 months is suppose to be for a 3-4 stage of endo.yes i do have fertility problems too. my endo was dectected when my gyne wanted to check my folicle- i have taken 1 round of clomid.
when i was a teenager i used to have heavy and long period ( 7days) with clots the 1st day. but over the years- may be 2-3 years back i have shorter period- 3 days max. i was happy but little did i know that actually it's the causes of my endo.
i'm currently taking a sea cumcumber extract - to heal my would completely. i can feel the improvement as i can walk and even run compared to 2 weeks ago. i took chinese bitter but i have stop for a while till the zoladex is clear from my body as they have contradictory effect-chinese bitter is suppose to regulate menses and i haven't have one yet. also i feel a bad headache after taking in- i have also took milk title and dandelion that morning. a friend told me that we wll feel dizzy after taking chinese herbs-it's an indication that we have lots of toxin in our body. i'm following julia's advice in sensiblehealth to clear my liver first. haha we really have to have an experiment with our own body.
may i know what type of supplement your chinese doctor is giving you?
have you done an hsg to check if yoru tubes are ok? i'll be doing mine next month. the last time i went one of my tube is blocked. praying for a miracle that it will be open this time.

No I have not had a laparotomy. It was suggested by a fertility doctor this year as one of his options… I had only one laparoscopy last year to diagnose my endo. I have stage 4 (severe, endo all over my abdomen organs including diaphragm) you can read my story in the introduction where I have some more detail.
Did you take clomid advised for a fertility doctor? Have you had an IVF? I am asking because this year I went to see a fertility doctor and he wanted me to start with I believe lupron first ant then clomid in preparation for IVF, IVF was the only option he suggested for my case also he said to improve success to maybe have a laparotomy first.
Are you seen a Chinese doctor for advise in the Chinese herbs that are you taking? Is this the first time that you are trying Chinese herbs?... As per your note I am a bit confuse: so were you taking the herbs same time as zoladex or you just starting when stopping zoladex?
Well the herbs that I getting from my Chinese doctor are not always the same, they changed depending on my symptoms, etc… I been taken at same point but not all at the same time….Korean Ginseng, Maca, Royal Jelly, Hi Potency B, Balance T (I believe to balance hormones and energy), Yam con cream (wild yam cream) and other Chinese staff like Bai Feng (liquid), Blood Tonic, Women’s treasure (pills)… As per one of the endo books from the endometriosis association I also take Evening Primrose oil, Calcium, selenium, and I’ve taken magnesium, vitamin A (but I out of those now). I also changed my diet following those type of books and research from the web…. You are right we really have to experiment with our own body!! But I hear at the end the endo patients are the most healthy people since all the things that we do to take care of their bodies!! What actually are Chinese bitters? Is there any other Chinese herbs that you take apart of that? I saw Julia’s web site, do you think is a trustable one? I have not had time to go through all the info but I noticed that she sells those products… Did you buy them from her?
Yes, I have done a hsg 4 months ago, and my tubes were open (both). I wish you the best outcome in your test, it would be a way to see if all the staff that you’ve doing is working…

I also have stage 4 endometriosis and I was able to have a laparoscopy so please try that option before a laparotomy...the recovery is less. During the last surgery they also opened my fallopian tubes because both were blocked. I am on Lupron now (to shrink the endo in my bladder) and am not having bad side effects but can't wait to get off so we can start trying to have a baby.
I tried Chinese Herbs once for 9 months and the last time only for 3 months before I got fed up and asked for the laparoscopy. The herbs were working but slowly and I was still in such great pain. The last lady I saw for acupuncture and herbs was wonderful and she specializes in endo so I may go back to her if my pain is still bad after the Lupron has run its course. The pill form of Chinese herbs is much better then brewing the herbs. I had to brew for the first Chinese herbalist and it smelled and tasted terrible.
Good luck you two!

hi Apple, Hi mwilmot
so we are almost in the same condition but i'm surprise mwilnot that you didn't have a laparotomy. mine was suppose to be a laparoscopy but since it's quite bad so they have to do the laparotomy immediately without 'waking me up" hehehe.
i wonder how did they manage to get your tube opened suring the laparoscopy?
Apple, i am not a very patience person in a sense that i want fast results in everything i do. so what i'm doing now is taking almost everything but NOT AT THE SAME TIME. i was still on zoladex when i took the chinese bitter- IT WAS A MISTAKE. that is why i stop. i din't get from julia as a fried who introduce it to me said that they don't do delivery to our place. so what we did, we print the chinese name of the herbs and show it to our local chinese store. i'll start taking it probably next month
yes, clomid is prescribed by my gynae-we have no fertility specialist here yet but 2 senior doctors here are currectly undergoing a fertility training and my gynae always refer to them.
No i haven't gone through IVF. i'll only consider if my tubes are blocked. otherwise i'll give it another year to try.then i 'll go for IVF.
as i've told you i've taken sea cucumber sxtract and see a lot of improvement. since last week i have NO pain having sex-wah this is good. i also ate lost of chocolate and ice cream- just can't stand it last week and feel no pain after eating it. that's mean my wound has recover- i'm hoping it helps with the endo it. i don't dare to say i'm heal from endo until my period come. i'm afraid of the 1st day pain and the retun of endo.
chinese medicine always taste terrible but if it can heal, it worth it
anything i can help just ask ok..i'll read your intro

My gyn referred me to a doctor that said I would have to have a laparotomy but I found a specialist that does everything laparoscopically. As far as I know there are very few surgeons that do a stage 4 endo surgery laparoscopially. I was lucky. If you want to read up on him and his thoughs on laparoscopy check out www.nezhat.org
