Pretty self explanatory! The pain is ripping me apart inside and I know there are many threads/posts about different meds, but the info is all over the place (and I've spent many hours pouring over previous threads...). I see my doc soon, and am trying to arm myself with as much info possible, so when I go in I can say "This is what I want you to help me with".
All I take for pain is Ibuprophen (taking WAYY too much, like 9-10 200mg/tab and they don't last long enough). M allergic to codiene & percs, so I miss out on like 70% of pain meds right there... I'm also trying to change my diet & plan to see both a nutritionist & homeopath asap. Until I get the pain to a managable state, I'm afraid of excersise, cuz of the ripping shredding pain during and afterwards.
Any recommendations for pain meds, I'd REALLY appreciate it.Alot of what I read in other threads was about meds not availible or approved for use in Canada (perhaps include the active ingredient/generic drug name) Appreciate the input!!

We have a few Canadian/ Canada resident members here who may be able to help. If you're NSAID only like me you'll want something along the lines of Diclofenac, it's a very strong NSAID (over here we have the brand name Voltarol) and far as I know products containing diclofenac are available world over. You just have to be careful about your stomach, especially with taking so much ibuprofen as it may be quite wrecked but your doc will help you with that, just make sure they're aware of your ibuprofen use so far. They will know how desperate you are for pain relief and may give you stomach meds to help it heal. Hope you get some relief soon xx

Hey thanks, my appointments the 8th. The pain just gnaws and burns away like fire. I've had 2 Bartholins cysts, and at least after surgery, the pain left! I know my health is in my hands, but I am so tired it's like I don't have the stamina to keep searching for answers, if there are any... And it's becoming embarassing cuz I can hardly hide the pain anymore.

I take cox-2 inhibitor painkillers, the newer generation of NSAID painkillers. They don't act on your stomach like ibuprofen does. I had to take them cos analgesic painkillers make me sick and I messed up my stomach taking so much ibuprofen too. Mine are called etodolac (generic name) and the particular pills I take are eccoxolac. There are relatively cheap TeNS machines available, that works for me. You may have some pain from the ibuprofen itself you know. You need to see your normal gp before the gyno if it's that bad. And though exercise doesn't seem like a good option, it makes all the difference to me cos I control what is causing the pain and learn how to cope with it. It feels like taking charge to me but obv isn't ideal for everyone The hardest but most important thing to change is your attitude to it all. It took me forever! xx
