I was just wondering if anyone has heard of codeine being bad for endo sufferers?
I think I remember reading something about it but I cannot recall where!
Ive run a search on here but it didn't bring anything up
Thanks

I don't know anything about it. I hope it's not since I've used it as a last resort for cramps before.

I have read something both online and in a book about narcotics being bad for endometriosis (though I find narcotics to help me). I'm searching for articles to post.

I have been looking as well but couldn't find anything. I just remember reading it.
Narcotics help me as well, the doctor has given me some heavy duty tablets this morning. It is simply paracetamol and a high dose of codeine.

Can't find it. Doesn't that just bite! When you're not looking for the info, it's plentiful...and now I can't find it!

OH GREAT! Brilliant. Just something else to tick me off about my doctor/surgeon. After surgery she prescribed TYLENOL-3 for my pain. AND rememeber this is the same said doctor that SAID... " You dont have endometriosis, YOU HAVE PELVIC CONGESTION" Why in the hell would she give me a medication that is going to help my situation get worse?!?! Geeze-louise. Granted the T-3 definately helps with the pain, it knocks me out. Also constipates me too but tht is beside the point. Apparently it is going to harm more than help with the Pelvic congestion syndrome! ARRRRGGG!!!!!! Maybe one of my kids will grow up and become a great doctor. Here's to hope. ***HUGZ**

^It also sounds a LOT like the symptoms of endo! Maybe a lot of the docs. just didn't find the endo...and so named it "pelvic congestion." Some of the treatments are also the same!

Yep. Been to that site already. And you stated exactly what I think/feel. (It also sounds a LOT like the symptoms of endo) My thing is this. They say your pain gets worse after long periods of sitting and or standing. That laying down relieves the congestion and that the pain should go away. Well, typically speaking. Mine DOES NOT. To be quite honest. I believe that I probably have both endometriosis and pelvic congestion. I mean I know I have pelvic congestion, she showed that to me on my surgery photos. Now I am at this point, after having yet a few more hours to think (since my last post) and... Who do i believe? The first doc? The second? and why do I believe them? Am I making any sense??

What I saw was a huge blood vessel next to my left tube. I also saw what typically you see in women's legs who have varicose veins in a few other places. Unfortuanately I wasnt able to sit and study the photos like I wanted to. I just got a chance to look at them as the doctor pointed out to me. I cant wait to get my own copies. Hey also I am going to start a new thread ( I guess that is what its called) on the board about Pelvic Congestion.
