ok, i have never in my life spotted inbetween periods, or after urinating, and iam still not sure if i have endo or internal cystitis, or what is going on, but tonight iam almost 3 days past ovulation, and haven't had sex since then, so it isn't that, plus i never bleed from sex, anyway, i peed, and wiped, and then there was some pink on the toilet paper. i wiped again same thing, then about 15 minutes later, i wipe and there is some brown blood, but not alot, just enough for me to notice this isn't normal for me. iam sure this can be a symptom of eigther disease, so it's not another clue, or is it? does this happen with endo? cause i know it can with the IC or so i read.
iam in my 2 week wait to see if iam pregnant, so i couldn't start my urology tests, not until i know if iam or not, cause iam scared it might interfere, though i doubt i'll be pregnant, one never knows, so could anyone tell me, is this extremely abnormal? anyone have it happen? ovulation has passed, and iam still crampy like my period is coming, which i know is an endo sign, more days of pain per month, but i never spotted though. i have an EXTREMELY bad migrane to boot...3 tylenols can't touch it. i am unsure if these things are related, i just wanted to throw it out there, and see if anyone has been there.
thanks, michelle

Hi Michelle
I was diagnosed with endo when I was 14 and I'm now 16. i have always been told by doctors that spot bleading is normal for girls with endometriosis. However I don't know if that's from the birth control pill once diagnosed with the disease, or if it is known as a symptom of endo. It may help your doctor to keep track of your spot bleeding and migraines by writing it down in a journal and including your pain level at the time. Good luck with everything!

^Kato, spotting common in women w/ endo sounds most likely for birth control pill spotting--we have TONS of women w/ that problem here. Keeping a journal is a GREAT idea, though! ^Needadvise, that's how I felt when I was pregnant for a few days this past summer! I had cramping after ovulation that felt like endo pains, and I had such a horrible migraine and even tummy problems (bathroom). I have had spotting after I peed, and it used to be the first sign I was starting my "period"...(<-- that's in quotes, because I was on the pill and it wasn't a real period). However, I have not had any pinkish blood after peeing since I quit the pill. But if you just ovulated, you shouldn't be starting your period, so I have NO idea what is going on! I was checked negative for cystitis, and I think I know exactly the problem you are talking about w/ the pink-tinged toilet paper. ...Who knows! I can't wait until you test!!! Have you been temp. charting? If so, I'd love to see your chart! Sometimes there are early preg. signs! HUGS!!!!

Wait. I thought it was urinary spotting. Is the little bit of blood coming from where you pee or from the vaginal area? If this is difficult to figure out, insert a tampon, wait until you have to pee, then afterward, check the toilet paper. If you still have pink-tinged paper, then it is urinary.

you're so smart, ouchy. i woulda never thought of that. that's why ya talk about things. everyone knows something different. cool. i wonder statistically what is more common, IC or endo? michelle, i hope, with all my heart, you get some answers soon. having just recently gone through some of the same stuff, i understand. not knowing is tough. your mind can imagine way worse things than what's probably really going on. stay strong in your resolve for answers and try to stay positive...and relaxed. i remember looking up everything online, scaring myself way worse than i needed to be. good luck.

I'm not smart. I've just been through a lot also...and had to find a lot of my own answers after going through tons of bad docs. I'll post something that will blow your mind later. I don't have time to post it right now.

Okay. Here is the pee/blood/tampon story...how it came about! I had been having urinary pain (back when they thought I had I.C.) and my first sign I was going to start my period would be pink-tinged paper when I would wipe after I would pee. I finally had enough--it was painful, burned like salt...OUCH! All of my cultures would come up negative. GRRR. I kinda' wished at the time that it would be some nasty bacterial infection --something that could have just been cured w/ an antibiotic or something! I think at that point, I would have even settled for having an STD in my records--just to get a "for-sure" diagnosis! Anyway, like I said, everything came up negative. I drove my happy butt to the E.R. Lucky me--the only doctor there (small town hospital) was an Egyptian guy, who upon going over the intake the nurse had done, declared me "unclean, obviously, since I am on menses!" WTFFFFFFFFFFFFF! Someoneeeeeeeee forgot to tell this jack off that we are in America...and women are not "unclean" if they happen to have a natural thing called a period! Besides, how the HELL did he get through med school in America thinking of women as "unclean" if they have blood leaking from any orifice?!? I demanded that I was NOT "unclean." His next line of b.s. trying to get out of examining me was to tell me that there was no way for me to know that the blood was coming from the urethral opening or the vaginal opening. Lucky for him I had a tampon in and could tell his stupid anti-American ass that the discharge was most definitely urethral. Despite having a tampon in, I was forced to be catheterized to obtain a urine specimin...STUPID! Anyway, he had the nurse do the rest of the exam w/ me. He, himself, only talked to me--NEVER even touched me/shook my hand! The nurse agreed that catheterization wasn't necessary, but for some reason she complied w/ Dr.'s orders. They found red blood cells in my U.A. but no bacteria. Despite all of the b.s. catheterization WHILE having a tampon in, the stupid doctor said that the RBC's must have "slipped through" and had to be from my menstrual flow (which hadn't even really started!!!!!) Anyway, I know this is rambling. It's late, and reliving this still pisses me off! Sooooo, that was the beginning of the battle: I.C., endo, something else? Thank goodness it all went away when I went off of the synthetic hormones!
