I'm in so much pain today! I've been taking Darvocet, but it still hurts and I don't know what to do. I have surgery scheduled for two weeks from now, but I'm afraid I won't make it.
I don't know what to take for the pain. The Darvocet helps, but it doesn't get rid of the pain. Sometimes I can't even stand up. It hurts whenever I eat or drink anything - every time I take a bite or something or take a drink of something it feels like I'm being kicked in the stomach. It also hurts to take a deep breath (not that I can even breath in very deeply, no matter how hard I try I just can't physically do it).
I'm allergic to all NSAIDs and can't take anything but Tylenol or narcotics for pain (aspirin and anything containing aspirin causes me to go into anaphylaxis). I'm seeing my surgeon tomorrow for my pre-op appointment - is there a good pain med I should request? I can't live like this for another two weeks.

Hi Cheryl,
Something that works for me is Cramp Bark with a magnesium/Calcium supplement.
Dr. Tori Hudson makes a brand that has everything in it, you can get it at a health food store. It relaxes those muscles specifically. I wish you luck and no pain.

Hi Cheryl...
I was given darvocet and they worked pretty good. But after my surgery, I was also given a prescription for loratabs. If not for them, I probably wouldnt have made it after the surgery. They really helped, and Ive taken them for cramps since then. (Bear in mind Im not having cramps now since being on hormone therapy for the endo, but prior to that thats what I took) I wish I had them before the darvocets, because they seemed to help better. Only, you cant work when you are on them, they will make you really drousy. But they help you relax and dull the pain pretty good. Use a heating pad too....that helps. Id stay away from dairy, or spicy foods when you are on your period, or in pain. Seems to make it worse especially when having to go to the bathroom. Good luck with your surgery....I hope you feel better soon.
