Hey, thought some of you might find this interesting! I am switching to a different brand of birth control called Desogen. Well, on Desogen's webpage, I found this Gallbladder disease Oral contraceptive users probably have a greater risk than non-users of having gallbladder disease, although this risk may be related to pills containing high doses of estrogens. Wow. I never knew that! Here is the link that I found that info on. www.desogen.com/products/consumer/desogen/guide/pat_info.html

That was an interesting article to read. Side effects about make you scared to take it. It is funny how so many doctors treat the conditions listed in the, should not take category. I have always been afraid to take something that the drug company who makes it, says I should not take. Must be why bc never worked for me. I guess that's why doctors do so much schooling and research. Ouchy, good luck with the Desogen. Lynette

Thanks, Lynette. Since I already have breakthrough again...I just got it stopped a couple days ago... I have decided to take a week off and have a withdrawl bleed before I start the Desogen. I'm not really getting my hopes up, because I think this will be the eleventh pill I will have tried! I just thought the possible gallbladder correlation was curious, as I have been tested for gallbladder problems! I can't wait to just get off of all these hormones and have a baby! My husband and I are waiting to try for a baby, because I have to have a surgery to correct my bellybutton which got...completely stitched together during my last lap! I had my appendix out at the same time, and the laparascope didn't go through my belly button like it did during my first lap. Instead, the doctor who took out my appendix put the lap. scope in just lateral to it, and the doc. who operated second to clean the endo out stitched up my belly button along w/ the incision just lateral to it! Grrr! sorry to vent! The dull-achy cramps are coming on now, and I am anticipating the knife-stabbing pains either later tonight or tomorrow. I hate endometriosis!!!!!

I am so sorry. I understand the need to vent, especially when it comes to Endo and doctors. Good luck with getting it all taken care of so that you can have a baby. Lynette

Hi! I am new here! I see that most of the women have the same medical problems as I have and I never thought they can be cause of the Endo! I have the pain since my first period but it gets worse with the time! Now I'm 30. The medicine in my country is very bad /I am from Bulgaira/ so I am even afraid to make a Laparascopy and I am just hoping to not get worse. I am 4 days with pain in bed during my period every month! I was taking baby control pills for 3 years for the menstrual pain /althou it didn't help a lot/. Because of this pills now I have gallblader stones and IBS and am on a diet all the time. I got 20 kilos up and depression and high blood presure cause of the pills too. Now 2 years after I stoped them my blood presure is ok and I lost 20 kolis /cause I can't eat/. But the gallblader problems and the IBS is there. So be very carefull in takinng hormonal pills even if they are just for birth control!
