The other day when I was reading some of your messages I came across a reply from a women who mentioned something about feeling like she was in labor during her period.
I never put two and two together or even thought about that. But about 2 years ago I complained to my mother that everytime I get my period it feels like I have to push something out. I just wanted to sit over the toilet and push. I went to the doctors and he checked to make sure a tampon wasn't stuck. Then he said it might be my birth control so he changed it.
The feeling of having to push did go away, but every now and then comes back. I just never thought any thing of it thinking it was just my body's way of going through the monthly cycle.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Could this be a sign of endo? I didn't bring this up to my doctor who is doing my surgery, b/c like I said- I really never thought about it until the other day when I read someones reply.
Thanks-Amanda

Yup. You'll find in a lot of our posts that each month we have a baby! A lot of us find that our cramps are actually contractions. I brought this up to my doctor, and he said that the cramps associated w/ endo are in fact, contractions. I also find that w/ my bad cramps come blood clots!
***Actually, my doc. said that a lot of the time the cramps associated w/ endo are for some women WORSE than labor, because some women can even pass out from the pain! ...One time I went to the bathroom to change a pad, and I awoke on the bathroom floor w/ my pants down and an unwrapped pad near my hand. ...FREAKY!

I have those types of pains too. When I was 18 I was cramping soooo (I swear I thought I was dying at the time) bad that by the end of the day my stomach actually felt like mush. My sister came in and felt my stomach and she said it felt the same as after she had given birth to her daughter, but I wasn't pregnant. And the other day I had the same type pushing senstation and ended up passing a blood clot the size of a golf ball. Whenever I have those pushing sensations like that I always pass large blood clots.

I have never passed any blood clots. But it really feels as if I have to push something out.
My cramps have never been that bad. There are months where they really hurt, but not ever single month.

i only get very severe contractions, like labor, during my IBS attacks, which i have had for as long as i can remember, and they are awful, but somehow i have dealt with the pain, and even have gotten used to it. i have had complicated and totally natural labors, and some of my attacks can be worse then that, so it definately sucks.
anyway, i don't have labor pain during af, just pain, and heavier bleeding during the first 2-3 days. i don't get contractions or anything. i sometimes but rarely pass some little clots, but nothing major. i definately noticed after my baby things got worse.
GL to you
hugs, michelle

I said it before. I dont' feel like I need to push, mine is the early labor part with severe contractions. When I was pregnant I truly had fears of dying in labor. I mean my period was about to kill me how could I handle labor, I thought I was just a wuss. I ended up having a c-section due to being breech after 4 hrs of contractions that never let up just kept getting more intense but never letting go. Realized my period felt just like that. I could see my stomach harden during my period too. So mine wasn't pushing part and I rarely had clots or even heavy bleeding, but pain was bad.
