HAHAHAA!! Sometimes I really wonder why I live here!! Today its minus 28 celcius with the windchill... I am NOT going anywhere today thats forsure! ahahhaa!! Where abouts are you?
When I had my kidneys looked at through ultrasound it hurt SO much to have the lady press on the areas and move the thing around on me that I had tears pouring down my face!! She asked me if I have fibromialgia!! Your right though - they always say that your back does take the slack from every other part of our body. Latley I haven't been slouching since I'm laying down a lot. But I must do it cause I find that when I sit up I can't do it for very long without getting really bad pains!!
I do have one spot though that hurts more than anywhere else... when I stretch to lay back I have a really sharp pain that feels like its above my right hip (but in the back not on my side). If I hold myself there for a minute I can feel it shooting down my leg past my knee. Not sure if that is what a pinched nerve feels like or not!
I also wonder how deep they can really see in there during the lap?
Thanks for the bit of uplift though! Somedays just to have someone who knows what its like tell me to 'chin up' is all I need!

I get pain on the left side of my back...feels like someone just kicked me. Then I upper back started hurting and the girl at work said, "look at the way your huched over your desk" and well it was true.
Pain is on my left ovary is shooting, throbbing and then the pain radiates down my front thigh...Dr's thought is was a hernia. Nope so I here I sit waiting for my OB/Gyn appiontment next week.
It is nice to find someone who knows what I am dealing with. I feel like I am just whining all the time...it gets depressing. My hubby listens and shows compassion but he does not totally understand.
I live in Iowa...my hubby got a job here so we had to move north. I just always hear on the weather channel that the canadian cold front is coming this way....burrrr. We are at about negative 12 windchill today, sunny. It sure looks pretty in Canada though...I plan to visit someday!!!

All your pain cannot just be from how you sit at your desk... there has to be something making you sit that way in the first place. I remember reading one of your posts where you mentioned the cramps that cause you to sit like that. Is that all during the month? I know for me I constantly have abdominal pain so I've guessed that thats probably why I always have back pain! I have the same wonderful support at home too, buy they aren't women so they don't even know what period cramps feel like, let alone any other day! I find it very nice too to be able to talk to you when you seem to have so many of the same issues I do.
You mentioned in another post as well that you had your doctors find a spot on your lung? I am interested in knowing more about that if you care to share... you can always write a private message if you like? I can fill you in on more about Canada too if you like!?
Please do keep me posted on what your doctor says next week... I'm trying to prepare myself for my surgeon visit March 12 and I like to think of all the possible things I may need to ask!

I used to just have pain only that time of the month, then it was 2 weeks out of the month and so on. Now it is everyday and gets more intense as my period approaches. I sit most days at my desk slouched over my heating pad. A few months ago I had cramps soooo bad I blacked out and that is when I realized this is not normal. Then the getting tossed back and forth between Dr's and diagnosis with the several tests. The CT Scan is how they found a spot on my lung and liver. They do not seem to worried but I have to have another scan in 6 months.
So if any good came out of all that, the scan alerted my Dr's to something that could cause more problems.
Sometimes I feel there is a grapefruit by my left ovary and it moves from my pelvis to my back. There are only a few moments in the day that I am not in pain. When that happens I think..wow I am cured!!! Then some cramp, shooting pain down my thigh and then back pain.
It makes me feel sane also that someone else has these same issues. My hubby understands but just wants it all to be over. My mother (lives in a different state) wants me at home or in the ER and demand some answers. I wish it was that easy!!!
I will keep you posted on my appt on Feb 20th, I cannot believe I am excited to see a Dr. This clinic is supposed to be very good so I hope it is worth the wait.
Maybe there is or you could start a thread on ??'s to ask the Dr. I understand wanting to be prepared...Dr's time is so limited anymore.
Not sure how to PM but I would love to learn more about Canada...that would be great!

At the top of the screen when you login there is a part that says 'you have _ messages' I think if you click in there you can send PMs.
I am so sorry to hear about the pain you are in! I can only imagine how hard it must be to force yourself to sit at the desk and be productive through all that. I know how hard it is for me to even force myself to unload the dishwasher or do laundry! The pain is so exhausting!
Atleast you don't have too much longer to wait!!! I myself have never had the balls to go to the ER.. only because I hear so much that they always say theres nothing they can do and to contact your family doctor - maybe after a shot of morphine... that sounds like bull considering how long it takes to even be accepted in the ER... (here anyway... it would probably be a 2-4 hour wait before you see anyone). That grapfruit sensation doesn't sound good either. I would request some tests be done in the meantime as you wait to get in for the lap. I'm pretty sure there is a thread on what to ask your doctor... I think I just need to start compiling my list so I can print it out when I go in.
Chin up Trish! I have a good feeling that you'll finally get the answers you need. If there is one thing that I've learned being a part of this forum thats to stand up for yourself in that doctors office, and do not back down from what you believe is a real problem!!
