Hi all
I was recently diagnosed with endometriosis and PCOS. I started Visanne about a week ago and the side effects that seem to plague me the most are nausea and mood swings.
My endometriosis was left untreated for many years due to the fact that my doctors were either too incompetent or just didn't care enough. It was an appendectomy done in early February this year, despite there being absolutely no sign of infection just incredibly severe pain, where the scar tissue was noted. These were biopsied and I was hastily handed a pack of pills to take.
A few months ago I visited a specialist who noted the PCOS symptoms as well and prescribed a diet change and exercise.
I do hope the Visanne will work well however my doctor recommended that I only take a 3 month dose and then switch to regular birth control pills, I just wondered if this was normal?
The other bit of information that I've been fed is that falling pregnant may actually cure the endometriosis. I don't know if I believe that as I have seen posts where women well into menopause have been diagnosed with endometriosis.
Its just such a difficult disease to manage, I hate the fatigue the most. I have started a new job and am trying very hard not to call in sick!
