Hello everyone. I stumbled across this forum today while looking for information on Visanne. A little background about my situation; I was diagnosed with a "moderate to sever" case of endo 10 years ago while having ovarian drilling due to PCOS. I had bad period pain, when I had a period which was never very often!, but other than that didn't really suffer with pain due to the endo. I was told I had adhesions on my bowel on the left side (explained the pain I got there when starting back on my birth control pill), on my bladder and there was evidence of endo in both my ovaries. In 2009 I suffered my first debilitating pain attack from endo, although no-one seems to know what set it off. I have never had a regular cycle, so it wasn't until 2012 that anyone even considered endo as a cause of my pain. I now get a very bad pain just above my right hip so I am thinking the endo has spread to somewhere in that area. I will mainly be hanging out in the sections of this forum dealing with drug treatments and surgical intervention. My ultimate goal is to have a full hysterectomy (including removal of my ovaries). I'm having trouble convincing a doctor to do the to a childless 34 year old, but the pain is getting unmanageable and I don't see another option. Hope to chat with you all soon and share in some positive experiences

Welcome! There are other options, but it seems like you've been through a lot. I had a hyst and RSO earlier this year at age 25. My doctor wanted to leave in one ovary so that I wouldn't go straight into full menopause. I'm still having pain issues, but it just might be from adhesions and bowels. So a hyst is not a cure, but it is nice to not have a period or ovulate.
