Hi, Im 23 and just diagnosed with endometriosis. This has been something i have death with for years, no doubt, but just now getting diagnosed. I am overwhelmed and feel so alone in this journey. After reading a lot of these threads, i realize I am far from being alone in this fight.
About 6 years ago I was diagnosed with PCOS, after having terrible bouts of large ovarian cysts rupturing monthly- which at times would land me in the hospital for several days. I also have hypothyroidism, a little overweight, and fit the category for PCOS. Due to high blood pressure concerns I was very limited with treatment options. My period has never been regular, I have also had very painful, heavy and sometimes lengthly periods. I tried progesterone only injections- that only made my period worse. I tried prometrium-when af decided to not show for months at a time, etc. I finally decided i felt better without taking anything. I would have occasional cyst that would rupture--so painful. But i could manage- I thought.
I went for my yearly exam last december. I went to a new gynecologist, because I felt someone, somewhere could help me. I explained my pain and problems, and he immediately put me on Ortho Micronor. I took that. My period may have been a little more timely, but still as heavy, and still oh so painful. My biggest Problem was that i felt like i was having terrible period cramps all though the month. In my lower abdomen, in my upper abdomen. (had even been diagnosed by gastro with IBS.) I even have severe sciatic nerve pain. I have pain in my kidney area. I was just diagnosed with a urethral stricture- after my gynecologist found my bladder was not emptying. I took the Ortho from december - May and wasn't any better
My last visit with my gynecologist, He gave me a diagnoses of Endo. He gave me the option of Doing the LAP and ablation. or beginning treatment with Depo Lupron. I chose to start the Lupron Injections. and I'm on Day 10.
I know this has been a long Intro. I am new to this. Has anyone experienced anything like this?
Take Care,
