Hi, my name is Jess. I just turned 24 this month. For as long as I can remember, my period have always been painful. And not the cramps that my friends got, I mean painful as in, I would end up almost blacking out (one time I did pass out). But I just thought it was normal and would have to take a sick day from school. Then when I was 17, I found out a had a dermoid cyst (only because I was peeing a lot more, and they ran some tests and saw something abnormal). I had to get surgery and along with the cyst, they had to remove my ovary and tube.
The painful periods continued, so I went on birth control pills. They really helped! But then due to me graduating from high school, and getting a job that didn't pay so well, I lost my insurance. I ended up getting off the BC and ended up right away with the pain.
Fast forward, I met my husband, and got health insurance again, and went back on birth control pills. They put me on Seasonique so I only had my period every 3 months. This was the best I had ever felt! I loved it! But then in June, we decided to try and have a baby and I got back off them. Immediately the pain followed.
For the past 7 months, I've been tracking my cycles. They can range from 25 days to 38 days. I also can tell when I ovulate because I have the worst sharp stabbing pain for two days. This is not the same as my period pain. Also since I started having sex (5-6 years ago), pain with intercourse has happened. The only way I found to relieve it was to insert Pre-Seed lub by application. Any other way, would hurt.
When I talked to my first gyne, he said that all the pain was normal, and that the blackouts were my body's way of dealing with the pain. He said the pain with sex was because I was tensed up (Was he there watching me?!?).
And then I realized that I have diarrhea/soft bowel every day, no matter if I'm ovulation, on period, or normal day. And then during my period, I have rectal pain.
So my new gyne is pretty sure I have Endo, along with my new family doctor (I've seen so many docs). They are scheduling me in for a lap.
Where the other part comes in, is my emotional health. The past few years have been so terrible. I would get anxiety about my periods and due to the pain, miss so much work and school. And most recently, the thought of not being able to get pregnant has been burned into my mind. I know there's still a chance, but now I don't even know if I want to be pregnant. If I have a girl, the odds are much higher for her to have endo. Along with that, I also have Hypothyrodism and Chronic Lower Back pain. I really would not want to bring someone into the world with that.
Anyway, I'm just trying to get over the emotional/depressing issues and I'm anxious to get this lap done!
