The last few times I've flown I have been in agony just after landing, when I went to New York last year I ignored it as much as poss cos I was waiting for an investigative lap. I basically thought I was being oversensitive or hadn't drank enough on the flight etc
Now I obviously know i have endo, but landing in Barcelona after a 2 hour flight I was immediately in so much pain they had to ask for a doctor (so embarrassing). I asked them to send away the paramedics cos it was just such a fuss, although the doctor seemed unhappy at leaving me when I insisted it was just endo. I was crying, and I've never cried in public over endo pain ever, usually cos I arrange to be at home.
It's a terrible crushing pain in my lower abdomen, esp my bladder and lower left, next most intense pain is to the left of my belly button and on the right just under my ribcage. The pain has dissipated, although it spread to my lower back on the second day, so everywhere between my hips and naval was so horribly painful. Today I was better, although peeing is something I hate, but i can't let my bladder get too full either cos both are very painful, despite 600mg of Etodolac (strong NSAID) and my little TeNS.
I have just landed back home, and although it's not as intense, flying seems to have kicked off the pains again.
Has anyone else noticed problems after flyng, sudden intensifying of 'familiar endo pain' like your normal pains 10 times worse? It was scary, and a pain I had under my ribs on the right that disappeared after my menopause treatment (the only thing that stopped!) has come back just as bad as before. If it's endo can it come back as quickly as 3 months later?
As advised on here, most recently in detail by akcheryl, I have drawn and labelled diagrams of my body and described to pain, how often and where, so this should help a lot when I see the gynae in March.
Interested to know if anyone else has experienced this sort of sudden pain, even after short flights xx
