I've been lurking for a long time, always meaning to make a post to introduce myself, share my experience, but never getting around to it. I post now because I'm not sure if what I'm experiencing is a normal thing or something I should be far more concerned about.
I'm just over three weeks post-lap. Two very large endometriomas (roughly 11 cm and 8 cm) were removed. No initial complications, minimal pain. Extensive adhesions and endometriosis seen but not removed. No bladder involvement seen, minor intestinal involvement. My surgeon inserted Mirena while I was under. I've had some minor incision pain, and a sharp ache that I attributed to the Mirena, but otherwise was feeling great and healing quickly. I even felt well enough to attend an audition and start plans to direct a one-act (I'm a theatre student).
However, a few days ago things started to get -really- bad. I started my period last Saturday, which was painful, although I heard that would be the case and was not alarmed. However, I noticed that my flow was abnormal - it was almost a watery yellow red blood, and smelled HORRIBLE. I mentioned it to my doctor when I got my first Lupron shot on Tuesday, and she put me on two antibiotics as well as gave me more Toradol and Codeine for the pain I was having. She did not examine me, but she did send me to go get an ultrasound and urine test and follow up with her next week.
I'm now feeling even worse. Pain is only partially controlled for about an hour with the painkillers I have. It's a very sharp, stabbing pain in the area of my right ovary, not the usual ache I'm used to. Urination is absolutely excruciating. I've curled up on the bathroom floor after peeing more than a few times. No fever, though... If I had one it would make what I should do a bit more obvious.
Could this be the Lupron estrogen spike causing the pain and will be temporary? Should I be concerned enough to go to the ER, or just wait until my scheduled ultrasound and appointment?
