Hello everyone, My name is Emily. I am 20 years old and was diagnosed with endo yesterday via laparoscopy. I haven't really spoken to my Gyn since the surgery but she told my family while I was in recovery that she had removed some endo (probably just stage 1) but hopefully that will improve my pain. I will go ahead and skip over to the lap stories and post about mine now. Just wanted to say hello and that I am happy to have listening ears from people who have gone through what I am feeling now. Reading all of the stories on here really helped me prepare for my procedure and I hope to do the same for other people.

Hello from a fellow Emily! I am glad to hear that you are home and doing ok after a difficult experience at the hospital. I just had my lap a little over 2 weeks ago and was diagnosed. I almost had an allergic reaction, both from the iodine scrub they used on my torso and the Percocet I was sent home with. I was given the advice to take Benadryl, so if you're still itchy maybe ask your doctor about that. As for the sore throat, I had the same thing for a good 4 days. I just drank as much ice water as I could to help soothe it. I tried hot tea, but it didn't seem to help. Take it easy! You were smart to take 2 weeks, as it really does take that long. Keep us posted on your recovery!

Here's wishing you a speedy recovery. Sorry you had a bad time with nurses! As for the BM - don't force it. I know it's a dreadful experience, but it'll happen when your body is ready. Keep up with the stool softeners so it's easier when it happens.

I did not get my first BM for close to 5 days, taking stool softeners twice a day, every day. Just be patient, like hellsbells said, it'll happen when your body is ready!
