Hi ladies,
I have had a few instances over the last few months of hip flexor pain and I was wondering if any of you have had any issues with this, or know if it could be related to endo? The first time I thought I might have just exerted myself with a workout (still could be that...), and the next couple of times I just boiled it down to something else, but I have had an increasing amount of sharp (at times immobilizing) pain on my lower right back. I also feel overall more "tight" in my whole lower back, hip & butt area.
Any thoughts or advice would be lovely?

I had really bad hip and low back pain from the endo. I still have some hip pain that I think is from adhesions.
I think the biggest relief for the pain was getting my appendix taken out during my last lap. Even though I had previous laps that cut apart adhesions, my pain on the right side was always bad. Although the pain was bad, none of my previous doctors had thought endo could be on my appendix since all tests were normal. When you finally get your lap, I think it would be good for the doctor to take your appendix even if endo is not on it yet since most of your pain is on the right.
To help with the pain I use heat, a TENS unit, and a foam roller. The foam roller really helps stretch parts of my hip and back that I can't stretch normally. I can use heat or the TENS unit while I'm out and about. I use skiing hand warmers for heat and have a TENS unit that can fit under my skirts. The TENS unit helps more with the back pain and does not do much for my hip pain.

I also have awful hip/lower back pain, but on my left side. I have not been diagnosed with endo, but have a lap scheduled for January 30th. My surgeon suspects that the pain is endo-related, as that is the side that gives me the most trouble about 3 weeks out of the month. While I don't have a TENS unit, I do agree with heat being soothing. Those hand warmers seem to be the perfect size. I also do some exercises with a resistance band when I can. Look up some hip stabilization exercises. I did physical therapy for a foot problem and learned these exercises, they seem to work!

I also have hip pain. I have tight hip flexors regardless of stretching and exercise. I also had a frozen left hip for a while. Physical therapy didn't even help with the hip pain. My hips just generally ache in general which is probably due to arthritis. It would be interesting if there was a link.

My right hip is much more tight than the left. Chiropractors and PTs through the years have always commented on it but never could figure out why and never really helped it. Eventually, when I had a lap, it made so much sense - my appendix was adhered to my cecum, and my cecum to my pelvic sidewall. All that would jack up my low back / hip and pull things out of alignment since when I was in pain, it would all clench up. (That's why things like foam rollers and stretching can help!) So in my case, the pain was a result of the endo.
Pelvic PT made a significant dent in it as it helped release the areas around my former appendix, which in turn released the areas that were affected by it. That's something that surgery doesn't address, so if anyone continues to have issues like this after a lap, I'd highly recommend pelvic PT, specifically a PT trained in women's issues and visceral/fascia release.
