I'm wondering if my low back pain is from my endo coming back or if it is related to mirena or something else.
The backstory is that I had a lap in May 2012 which found endo on my utero sacral ligaments. The endo was excised. I had a mirena inserted July 6th. As time has passed from the lap and mirena insertion I have had more and more low back pain. I also have arthritis in my spine (I'm lucky that way). But the increasing pain is unlike arthritis pain in that it "burns" more and is more of a stabbing pain.
I'm wondering if the pain is due to the endo growing back? I read that low back pain is associated with endo on the utero sacral ligaments. Or could it just be a side effect of the mirena?
I'm going to bring it up to my doctor next month but I figured that I would see if anyone has an opinion here?

Endo pain can be felt in the back. I am on Mirena now for a few months and have had no back pain.I would call you pc Dr and see if it is the arthritis its very possible.

For me, my back pain was directly tied to adhesions and freaked out muscles due to the long-term pain I was in. Pelvic PT significantly reduced my back pain/issues and mostly eliminated my cramping, which I just assumed was due to endo itself. Might be something else to consider discussing with your doc.

Ditto what Karen said as to Adhesion's and freaked out muscles. There are lots of low back stretches you can do that help, and you can look on the Internet. Something I'm realizing is that those adhesion's can be broken up, what we see in PPT (pelvic physical therapy) and the Clear passage, Rolfing, etc. It is possible to help yourself in this area too though. I have been concentrating on doing self deep tissue massage and pressure points and I swear things loosen up every time. My hubby helps when he is home. I don't have the option of going to a therapist currently but stretches, Yoga, it all helps me feel better overall and I feel like the more I carefully stretch out those over tweaked out muscles and get them to relax the better.
