Hello All! This is my first post although I have been reading and lurking for a while. However, I don't see a lot of discussion on my problem.
I have had on again off again pain in my right groin lymph node for 5 years now. Originally my gyno thought it was from a polyp on my uterus because my periods were painful and she thought that was the problem. Removal of the polyp provided little relief and I still had painful cramps.
Then a year later I was diagnosed with Epstein Barr Virus, and the main symptoms are swollen lymph nodes, sore throat and fatigue...so I just assumed my painful lymph node was a result of EBV.
The pain was, and is, always worse during my cycle. Throughout the past 5 years my periods have become more and more painful that I finally went to a new gyno. I was dx with endo and adenomyosis. A laparoscopy provided no relief.
My cramps typically start about 12 hrs after I notice bleeding and last 24 hrs and during this time my lymph nodes are especially swollen, enlarged and tender, although they are often swollen and tender at all times of the month just not as bad as during my period.
I don't know why I never thought of this, but I am quite certain it is this endo that is causing the swollen nodes, not the Epstein Barr...or maybe a combo of both.
However, I don't see a lot of you ladies complaining about this?? The pain can get so bad it hurts to walk or be on my feet (like today, and I am only on day 8 of my cycle)
Anyone else have swollen groin lymph nodes that are associated with endo?
