I'm apparently really hot as well! But it is interesting that I do have a few more curves than my mom & sister who do not have endo (clearly, I am way more attractive).

Seems stupid on the surface, but the science DOES mesh up pretty well. Body features/shape associated with higher estrogen levels match up with severe endo, which also tends match up with higher estrogen. The whole "hot" thing is silly, but the scientific measures of attractiveness are what they are.

What made me uncomfortable about it is it seems like they are trying to link endo to sexual activity because they said the more attractive someone is, the greater likelihood they are to have sex at a younger age. There are doctors out there that actually believe that endo is due to being sexually abused which we all know is a load of crap. So any inference to sexual activity and the cause of endo makes me really uncomfortable. I agree though that higher adipose tissue content ("curves") could mean higher estrogen levels because adipose tissue can actually be an endocrine gland when the cells become large.

The higher adipose/higher estrogen still doesn't add up. We have lots of really skinny people who are really sick and have horrible endo. I think its pretty stupid study but there are studies for everything!

Yeah that's pretty typical of a correlation study. They are not accepted in the medical community for this very reason. Correlation does not mean causation.

I think the link to sexual activity relates to studies around adolescents that show girls who develop early and those who develop larger breasts do have lower ages for sexual activity, so they may be making an additional leap there. Again, correlation is kinda crappy.
