Anyone reading this, I apologize if another thread already exhists on this subject...
I just had to mention how amazing this stuff truly is! I came on here looking for a home-remedy for yeast infections, but didn't really find much (that I could do at home right away).
However, I did find info in one of my own books on using tea tree oil for yeast infections. Two methods which I have used successfully, are as follows:
1 clean, sterile tampon (minimal/light absorbency is best) (or cotton balls, if desperate!)
Boiling water
tea tree oil
sterilized, clean glass (cup/bowl)
Pour the water into clean "dish" (about 1 cup), adding tea tree oil (approx. 5 drops).
Submerge the tampon into the water/oil, and squeeze out excess liquid (the tampon will expand of course)
Obviously, you will use the tampon in much the same way as if you were menstruating. I think it's best to wear the tampon overnight, it's just less complicated...
I have also used tea tree oil mixed with a carrier oil/ olive oil as like a "balm" for the vaginal area to reduce itching. There was a very warm sensation, but it started working quickly.
I wouldn't say that this should replace conventional kits for yeast infections, but when you are desparate and can't get to the pharmacy, it will certainly work! And is also totally amazing for clearing up acne spots, even though it's an oil. I find it actually works in a matter of 1-2 days for most things, so it helps if you're in a pinch.
I hope this can help someone, b/c I can say as a "testimonial" that it does amazing things...
