Welcome back! I'm newer here so I haven't seen you on the boards yet. Although there may be no cyst on your right ovary, there could still be endo or adhesions on it. Have you had your appendix taken out yet? Mine was taken out during my surgery in June. I've had multiple issues with my right side but none of my other doctors looked at the appendix during my other surgeries. Maybe if your new doctor decides to do surgery, ask them to look in other areas. I hope everything works out with the new doctor! Actually it's funny that you mention the appendix because when I was 14 I was hospitalized for lover quadrant pain and they felt it was my appendix but all tests came up normal. They sent a child psychologist in my room to tell my mom there was something mentally wrong with me. Since then I have had just about every negative label slapped on me. But I am hopeful my new drs will see something different. The way alot of drs treat patients is unfair, but I have some hope. And btw...welcome to Endo Resolved! That is so infuriating! The same thing happened to me when I was little and started getting migraines. The neurologist I saw as a child told my mom I was faking it. Ever since then my trust for doctors went to hell. It takes a lot for me to trust a doctor now. What's even more sad is 22 years later I was apparently still "faking" migraines until I got a real neurologist that actually listened to me and figured out it was a stupid food allergy this entire time! I suffered for 22 YEARS being crippled by migraines!

I believe lots of drs do that because they are afraid to actually look into things a patient goes through and is concerned about. It's less work for them. It's very very sad. But I am hopeful that I will keep getting drs who believe me and who will perhaps end my pain, or at least some. I will even take just "some" pain relief if I have to. Better than nothing at all.

I hope your new doctor works out! All it takes is to find that one doctor that cares and everything seems to fall into place.

I don't believe in the tests that they run for the appendix. All of my tests, CTs, and ultrasounds came back normal for my appendix even up to a month before I had surgery. Does this look normal to you? I'm thinking that kind of damage takes a lot longer than a month to form. So you are not crazy for thinking endo may be on/by your appendix even though every test comes back normal. I hope everything goes well on Monday!

But yes it def is not a joke to think that it can spread to different places.

Ok so I had my appointment today. The dr seemed nice enough. I had to request a pap smear because they were not going to initially do that. I feel that with my family history and the shape of the cyst that a pap is important. Since there is no one in my area to take my insurance I have to go to this place, but I have also learned to run the show in a way.
I mentioned that my old dr wanted to do a lap on me to explore endo and treat it if need be. The new one doesn't want to resort to a surgery off the bat. He started me on progesterone pills to see how that works. I guess I will give it a shot. I don't do well with estrogen so maybe this will be better. I am nervous very much so. Nothing ever works out for me it seems as far as drs and such go. Does anyone know some facts about progesterone? I am a tad nervous of it making me feel and look disgusting. I did with estrogen.
Side notes : My weight dropped a little, 104lbs. BMI is 18.20. And I grew an inch in height O.o Idk how or why but I am taller now lol.
I hope this works for my pain and cysts. I want my life back.

Also...the internal exam he did in addition to the pap was painful. And he avoided the rectal due to my last experience with the rectal exam, my head, and the roof..... THANK GOD!

The drug he put me on is called JOLIVETTE. And I did read that it in rare cases some serious side effects like blood clots and a heart attack can happen. Kind of afraid to take it because a friend of mine died of an embolism not too long ago. But I know I probably should take it. Lol, guess I have had such bad luck so far with everything that I am nervous.

This thread talks a lot about bio-identical progesterone, I don't know if there are any other threads: endo-resolved.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=alternative&thread=4028&page=1I'm sorry he did not want to do a lap since that is the only definitive way to diagnose, but I also know your options are kinda limited. And if the progesterone doesn't work you can go back and tell him that. If you are nervous, talk to the doc about your concerns and make sure you feel okay with anything you're taking.

Thanks for updating us!
Although it seems like many doctors like to try the pills before doing surgery, my doctor made me stop my pills 6 weeks before my surgery. She said that it would be easier to see the endo and excise it when I was off the pill. If you want to have surgery because it is getting worse, being on the pill is something to think about if you want to get in right away.
I'm not too knowledgeable about progesterone, but I was on Norethindrone continuously for a couple of years. Now I'm on a norethidrone acetate and ethinyl estradiol. I seem to tolerate norethidrone based BCPs better than any other because it does not give me really bad headaches. I am always on a continuous pill, which makes it easier since I don't have periods anymore. Although it helps because I don't have periods, it does not stop the endo from returning or spreading. Essentially I use it more for pain management to get rid of my periods.
I'm so jealous you got taller! I never really grew. I'm stuck at 5'. >_<

I'm sorry he wants to try the pill route first. I'd highly recommend you keep close tabs on your symptoms after you go on the pill and set yourself a time limit of how long you're willing to try it before you go back and request a lap (if that's what you want). The website www.reliefinsite.com is awesome at tracking meds, symptoms, pain, etc., and you can even print out reports to bring to your doc to show trends. It's a lot less easy for a doc to blow you off when you come in with a chart showing pain levels over a period of time! The pill he prescribed is a progestin-only pill and is different than the bio-identical progesterone. Because progestin-only pills don't have any estrogen to help balance it out, side effects can sometimes be a bit less tolerable - oilier skin, weight gain, etc. BUT, some women do really well on them. Just keep an eye on how you're feeling.

Thank you all for your replies. Is there a more "natuaral progesterone"? Not sure if there is such a thing but my hair is already thinning a bit, skin gets oily in areas and I want to gain weight in a more healthy way. I want to feel better but I also don't want to become depressed over the changes my body may take on.
