I saw my regular OB/GYN today for my Mirena checkup. So far, the Mirena or the other stuff that I'm on are reducing my pain. It's not gone, but it's less. I'm not sure if its the Mirena, Cymbalta, or the lap that I had in May.
However, I asked her if she had ever prescribed aromatase inhibitors for Endo, in case the Mirena doesn't eliminate all the pain. She said that I would have to see a Reproductive Endocrinologist to get an aromatase inhibitor. I thought that this was odd since I thought Reproductive Endocrinologists are for infertility treatment. Since I don't want kids, I thought it would be pretty silly for me to see one.
Has anyone been to see a Reproductive Endocrinologist for endo that doesn't want kids?

I'll be honest, I haven't been to a RE, but we often say on the boards that your best bet is with an endo specialist. Sometimes, those come in the form of a RE. It may be worth at least going for an appointment and listening to what the RE has to say, and it's your call if you want to proceed with whatever he/she recommends. If it were me, I'd at least check it out, regardless if I wanted kids in the future. Just because you don't want kids doesn't mean you don't have the right to be seen by someone that KNOWS how the girlie bits work!

I haven't been to an RE either, but I think who ever is an expert on the inhibitors is the best one to go to. If that happens to be an RE then so be it. I would just do the homework to figure out if they actually knowledgable on this before going in to see them. Did she have any docs to refer you to?

I've never been to one either but I've noticed that the few girls who have gotten aromatase inhibitors have gotten them from their OBgyn. If your gyn doesn't feel comfortable prescribing them then it's probably best to go to someone who has experience with it. Here is our thread on aromatase inhibitors so you can see how others have done on it: endo-resolved.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=drug&action=display&thread=4745
