Don't worry about the title, I don't think it's a real thing but I do get a collection of symptoms the last 2 cycles (I'm currently off the pill) about a week before my period that make me think my womb hates me. Knowing the pain type/location from having a Mirena fitted, my womb feels consciously 'there' for just under a week - it kills when I walk and if I sit down with a bump. Even when my bowel is almost ready for a bm, which also already hurts like a mofo during and around my period, my womb hurts. Sex hurts it, and the surrounding area too. That pain calms down when my womb sensitivity goes away however. I'm lucky in that respect I know. Has anyone else experienced this, been given an explanation? Its bad enough having the growing abdominal discomfort we get before a period but this is taking the cake. The two (extremely short and light, for the first time since menarche hit me like a scarlet 2 week long waterfall) periods I have had off the pill, this happened beforehand. I'm wondering if its to do with the changes to the cervix around ovulation maybe. Feedback much appreciated :-)

I am pretty convinced the womb makes us all crazy. Attachments:

Yeah as if its monthly cycles weren't enough. I can see this isn't really going anywhere in terms of others experiencing it but if it carries on I'll look into it and let you guys know how it goes. I have no mirena and no artificial hormones so I don't get why its going on. I'm dreading it to be honest menstruating in jormal cycles is a big stress but this pain before is just more bs.

I think I have that about a day or two before my period starts, and maybe a day or two into my period. It just feels like my uterus is heavy and jiggles around a bit when I walk. Is that what you're talking about? I don't know that I'd call it angry, but perhaps a bit unhinged (literally)?

I think I'm referring to it as angry because it hurts so damn much. I can feel it jiggling heavily but it's accompanied by pain that is reminiscent of the pain I had during and after the Mirena was put in the first time. That flavour of pain if you get me. Nasty and males me want to not walk but not the breath-taking stuff we get with periods. I feel a bit of the same pain when cramping. But yeah this pain, its the first time I've felt it in a standalone capacity. I can't exercise with it which is out of character for me. I dunno. It's hard to illustrate it with words.

Cherry what didn't you like about the Mirena. I am supposed to finish talking to my Dr about it on Tuesday then send in the papers to get it. I keep going back and forth with this one.

Sorry Mustang, been so far out of the loop its ridiculous! I found it gave me cysts (fact when I know it's used to help women with PCOS but then I have always been contrary) and I was constantly crampy and spotting. Everybody is different though, so I hope it works out for you!

Thank you Cherry. I think I am going to give it a try but we are talking about another lap right now so I need to way all my options with my Dr.

My doctor liked me to have them straight after surgery, presumably to take advantage of the clean slate and also preserve the good work done during the op. and he wanted to put them in during the time I was unconscious which was good for me as the first one, which I finally let them put in about 2 weeks after the op, it really hurt me for whatever reason. If you're having surgery it could be ideal. Or even beforehand as well, as my doc would like me to go back on hormone therapy and predicts my new surgeon will want the same for the time before my op. I had really thick sebum too which left me with acne and dandruff, but I don't think anyone else has reported stuff like that. Let us know what you decide!

Wow were you on the phone when I spoke to my GYNO this morning those were her word exactly. We ordered the Mierna and she will do it at the time of my surgery.

That's great. Gynaes seem to have a general consensus on how they want to tackle endo. When the time comes, feel free to share in the Mirena thread - the more experiences we post, the better we are able to inform women considering courses of treatment :-)
